You should come to Okinawa Japan, it's a fifty five minute flight from Taipei to Naha. Okinawa is the tropical, Hawaii of Japan. Okinawa was an independent kingdom until the 19th century so the cuisine and culture is different from the mainland. Then it's a short flight from Naha to Fukuoka on the mainland.

Hey Chris and Carol! The daily Mail UK released the 99 top picks for best travel destinations in the world for 2023. 3rd place was the blue Lagoon in Iceland. I’m shocked at what I am seeing in Taiwan. I had no idea this is what Taiwan is like. Thanks for bringing me there also. Get the taro bubble tea! The trick to the claw game is, the object you are trying to capture has to be high up in the machine. The claw closes on the way up.

@@JumpingPlaces hi. Yes that is the waterfall we visited in 2018. From china obviously. The journey to it was amazing we went up close to it on those rafts too. It was so breathtaking. And I have some brilliant photos of the waterfall. As on the china side you walk in and you see the smaller waterfalls first and you walk round. It quite a walk till you get to the main part of it. We saw banana trees there and alsorts growing. China is amazing. And we could see the stone saying Vietnam from the Chinese side too. We loved China.

One very convenient point about Taiwan is that you can go mountain climbing in the morning, swim in the beach in the afternoon, and have a drink in a metropolitan bar in the evening on the same day. In fact, Taiwan is famous not only for its natural landscape, but also for its strong human touch. Many people are not used to eating stinky tofu the first time, but fall in love with it the second time. Your information is very accurate, I believe you have done a lot of research, you are amazing. I am very happy that you are satisfied so far, and I am looking forward to the next video! You both did a really great job, thanks a lot for sharing!👍🥰❤🙏🙌👏

I am very impressed how courageous you two are about traveling about and using public transportation. You stay chill when things dont go exactly as planned like missing that bus. I told a Taiwanese friend about these videos and how I would love to go. She said she might arrange to go the same time I would go to show me around. How wonderful would that be! Thanks again for these videos.

Another great video! Not sure if you know this, but there is a helpful tip when ordering a bubble tea -- you can customize the sweetness level for the tea, which usually goes like 100%, 70%, 50%, or 30%. You can also specify the ice cube amount as well. Most Taiwanese do not drink it with full sweetness. So if you do not want to let the sweetness ruin the pleasant tea taste, you may want to order bubble tea with less sugar. Taiwan is one of the countries that embrace the tea culture so we have top-ranked tea farms in the world. By the way, you can try the Oolong milk tea instead of the black milk tea but do not drink it too late cuz the caffeine might keep you awake all night...

That dish you had in Shifen is the marinated mince pork with chopped tarro roll. The outer skin is beancurd skin. The inner fillings are marinated with salt, pepper and Chinese five spice powder. This dish originated in Fukkien province, China. In olden days when refrigerators were not available, this dish can last at least two days and still taste good once after reheating by light frying. The stinky tofu are marinated in strong smell Chinese herbs. One of the ingredients is star anise seed.

As always, fabulous and interesting video. It’s concerning that so many of those balloons are released daily just from that one location. It’s one thing if it’s a holiday, a special celebration, it’s another if every day just for tourists. When I lived in Brazil my husband was an airline pilot and those types of balloons can be dangerous for aircraft. Also when they land they can and do cause fires, even in tropical climates. Plus they’re bad for birds and anything living in the sea. We once had a balloon land on our property from 200kms away from MG. They put their phone number to call to see where it landed. Funny but not funny considering the risks. Stay happy and safe’ ❤

Thank you for your concern. The lantern is a open paper balloon which require fuel burning. They could only be released in the green and wet valley in the video. By controlling the fuel, most of them won't be able to fly out of the valley. The report said from seller side of the story, 95% are reclaimed and the frame of a lantern could be reused for 4~5 times. The frame is mainly made of bamboo and iron wire. A more eco-friendly model exists but the price would increase from 5 USD to 12 USD. So the market share only ~0.1%. The whole community is working on that slowly.
