In the TSM vs C9 did you not think there was a draft gap? I watched Doublelifts perspective on this game and he said that yes they got the perfect early game, but as they scale into the game no one can facecheck bushes to get vision and they have almost no frontline to play vs tsm. apparently spica also though this and so didn't tilt in game. Do you think this game is more winnable for C9 if played properly even with the scaling issues?

I really don't like the C9 vs IG comparison. Not to say C9 is a top tier team internationally or anything, but IG as a team is pretty well suited to take advantage of C9's weakest point (that is, topside). Moreover, the LPL as a league has an extremely stacked middle with teams like JDG and Suning. 10th place also sounds a lot worse for people familiar with LEC, LCS or LCK, but LPL has 17 teams, not 10, so 10th place is not as low as it might seem to some. Compare C9 to KT Rolster in Korea or SK in Europe and it seems way better. If it has to be an LPL team, then an actual lower tier team would be someone like TT or OMG, against whom C9 matches up a lot better. Also, having the matchup specifically be without scrims is a bit unfair, since there would be scrims before and during an international tournament. Being able to play against good teams instead of trash ones can be extremely useful for refocusing how a team like C9 would approach a match. Again, North America's top teams are still far behind the top teams from the true major regions, I just object to the comparison with Invictus Gaming specifically.

@nephillim86413 жыл бұрын
TSM didn't win cause they were good but because C9 was bad. They didn't deserve that win no matter what TSM or NA fans say. In any other region if the 1st seed team gets a lead like C9 did its game over.
@gtwithgabe91963 жыл бұрын
I can apply this logic to any win in any region.
@xEmpress953 жыл бұрын
@@gtwithgabe9196 True, but how often do you see Damwon KIA, RNG, EDG or even RGE drop games from ahead? There's a reason that the win loss ratios of every top team so far ranks as: Pentanet : 8-0 (100%) [1st Seed LCO] DWG KIA : 13-1 (93%) [1st Seed LCK] PSG Talon : 12-1 (92%) [1st Seed PCS] RNG : 11-1 (92%) [1st Seed LPL] Unicorns & OBG : 7-1 (88%) [1st Seeds LCL] GAM Esports : 7-1 (88%) [1st Seed VCS] G2 Esports : 13-2 (87%) [1st Seed LEC] Supermassive : 12-2 (86%) [1st Seed TCL] Peace : 6-1 (86%) Detonation : 12-2 (85%) [1st Seed LJL] EDG : 10-2 (83%) Beyond : 10-2 (83%) Flamengo : 13-3 (81%) [1st Seed CBLOL] Rogue : 12-3 (80%) Crowcrowd : 6-2 (80%) Wildcats : 11-3 (79%) Furious Gaming : 9-3 (75%) [1st Seed LLA -- From what I could research] Red Kalunga : 12-4 (75%) SAIGON : 6-2 (75%) Cloud 9 : 11-4 (73%) [First Seed LCS] Rascal Jester : 10-4 (71%) Gen.G : 10-4 (71%) Dignitas & TSM : 10-5 (66%) All Knights : 8-4 (66%) LCS's first seed is in the bottom six of that ranking. And while, yes, this is hardly a scientific method, and a lot of winrates for some leagues are skewed by game numbers and will likely shift as those respective regions play more games, the general standings still remain pretty alarming for the current first place LCS. And if you want to say it's because it's a more competitive region... I mean... Look at the LCK, LPL and LEC rankings. Only the LCK second seed has less than an 80% winrate. Which is also the only second seed from a major region that C9 is remotely close to. And honestly, if you had to bet your money on Gen.G or C9, who would you pick?
@gtwithgabe91963 жыл бұрын
@@xEmpress95 imagine going by win loss percentage and comparing them inter regionally. You can't extrapolate anything from that since it obviously omits context. Plus it's a different ball park when you do bo1's. You wasted all that time only to come out looking dumb as hell. High variance numnuts.
@gtwithgabe91963 жыл бұрын
Also by your analysis wildcards out of SA, are better and more consistent then the top LCK and Chinese teams. Lmaooooo
@xEmpress953 жыл бұрын
@@gtwithgabe9196 Imagine ignoring half my comment? I already noticed that the analysis wasn't scientific and that wilcards and lower game tournaments would skew results. It was obvious as Hell that Pentanet were not actually in league with DWG KIA. And I'd originally only included the LCK, LEC, LPL and LCS but then figured if I'd only then that people would then just point out that I omitted the rest of the leagues that are world=-qualifying os included them, too. And while true that BO1's are a very different ball game, consider that both the LCS and LEC follow a BO1 format. And still prove my point. Also you can see just by looking at the execution of RNG, EDG, DWG KIA and G2 this season that there's a big difference between them and C9. And speaking of BO3's... Should I point out all the 0-3's in the Lock-In Tournament? Or how C9 barely lucked out in a reverse sweep versus 100T only to have Fudge exposed by Alphari -- An LEC import on Team Liquid who slumped throughSpring split and just gave CLG a free win? I wasn't JUST going by winrates. It's in the execution of these teams that allow them ot have high winrates. C9 has proven, meanwhile, time and again that they are not untouchable. They're 0-3 versus Team Liquid so far and lost to them in the Lock-In Finals. TL meanwhile have dropped games that make almost no sense across the board outside of C9, including CLG. While the rest of the LCS have had extremely coinflippy games based on throws rather than execution. But, eh, this is ultimately all conjecture. I hope C9 and TL turn it around more. And I hope that whoever shows up at MSI does well. And whoever shows up at Worlds doesn't go 0-6 this time. Not that Blaber/Zven/Vulcan made it to Worlds last year after choking the summer playoffs to a roster FlyQuest chose to completely blow up this year and rebuild from scratch. And here's the thing: I don't even hate NA. I love C9. I'm hopefully for EG, DIG and 100T. And I hope TSM and TL do continue in their upward trajectory. But to say that Damwon or G2 or RNG or EDG or Rogue would frequently blow leads like C0's over this weekend. Or would ever lose to Afreeca Freecs, Astralis or Rogue Warriors like TL lost to CLG is an absurd notion. Also a waste of time implies I don't enjoy this. Just saying. AndI genuinely don't think I come out looking stupid. But sure, grasp your straws and hurl your petty insults. It doesn't change the fact that every time NA has been in remote contention for internationals success they've been consistently beaten out by the LEC, LCK and LPL.And that this years doesn't seem any different. In fact, last year at Worlds, neither FlyQuest, TSM or TL advanced from Groups or placed above an LCK, LPL or LEC team in their group. Hm. Y'know, this is fun. But let's just base it off your own metric. So which metrics SHOULD be analysed the best get an idea of the current standings and strength of the Season 11 LCS rosters? Because so far all we have is the LCS trading wins back and forth largely based on team throws while the rest of the first seeds like G2, RNG and DWG remain consistent in their wins and losses. I guess we just wait and see. MSI is coming up. And Season 11 is still young. The LCS saw a LOT of team overhauls, so it's only natural that there's kinks to be worked out. So here's hoping.
