Thats the best advice right there 3:00 all My best beats have not much more then a Bass, Main melody, counter melody, drums, some lite ear candy some basic filter and reverb or delay effects. Ending up with (not including drums) 4 to 6 tracks maximum. I always find it interesting seeing some peoples DAW projects with 30 or more tracks in one beat, Im like "Dude why do you have so many tracks?" Over complicated.

the first advice is wrong. I have been selling beats since 2012. I don't mix. Never. The mix has never been a factor in buying a beat. If you dont have a personality and a own sound you cant make it in selling beat

I'm definitely not saying to take away the personality of your beats by mixing them. Its about mixing them to make them sound good, which means there can and should still be personality even after the final mix :)

@@olihortonbeats personality IS about your melodies,arrangement,sound selection etc. Mixing IS a bonus. Not a goal.you would be surprised to know how many sounds in the charts were recorded on beats not mixed in mp3.
