Personally, I think Figma are hit or miss. Like they generally look good in a few poses, but if you want playability then Figuarts generally does better. Hasuki's figures look good and if they can get licensing for popular animes or shows they'd do well.

@garrison778 Agree. Figma are definitely more for display, and Figuarts are more 'action figures'. I don't really have a strong opinion regarding licensing, as theres pros and cons for that vs original characters.

It's funny, when this one went up for preorder, I took one look and immediately dismissed her. But then randomly saw her locally and decided to pick her up. Not usually my style either, but she's grown on me. I'm also really looking forward to Friede. Hasuki seems to have improved a lot. Their early figures were low-key ugly/funny looking (might be subjective).

I can only comment on snail shell since it's my only one here for now, but man, they could easily mog Figma except for one weakness: while figma use these flexible plastic parts, snail shell use these hard plastic types. The main issue of people would be broken joints, since female body figs tent to have tiny joines compared to their male shaped counterparts. I'm waiting for them to release joints for sale, like how figma does (since even the soft plastics still break with age). I also have that animester whisky sour, and they gave away a lot of extra joints in case you break the ones already installed.

Yeah, joints are always a bit of an issue - both too tight and too loose. Heating em up is also an option and has been fine for me so far if tight. Whisky sour always catches my eye but she's too big for my collection, and I'm not ready to take the plunge into other kinds of figures yet.

I bought her last week and she looks better than I was expecting, also hasuki also sells clothes for their figures so you personalized them a little more, also didn't notice her top what cloth, I thought it was plastic, so that's gonna be my first cast off figure I guess lol

I have tsubaki and hagi and they have different bust sizes which is good.. Hagi have a set of R18 decals as well if you want to detail their intricate parts..

Of course. I'll be reviewing PA009 Friede, who releases next year. I have a Short of her if you'd like to see what she looks like. There's another one releasing before that, which I'll consider. I used to be strictly figma, but then tried some SHFiguarts and other companies (Snail Shell and Hasuki), and they have all been enjoyable so far! Yeah, plastic can be a bit limiting even if it's soft plastic (e.g. SHF Fern)

The moment I see fabric figure. I would say bad. Why I collect hottoys and some figma do have same motif. After 4 yrs of display figure with cloth. You will notice the crack and feel of clothing. Dust stick to cloth easily , hardly to post , easily damage and thin over time. Under cost why china 1/12 figure are cheaper . Because the character they sold are nobody or allifilation to any anime or game related. Hence is easy to release in cheaper cost. While figma and shf they often tie to licensing right to release . Eventually .ake them release longer. During one of the interview with boss of figma. He mention why lately release slow. Main release is negotiating with liesences right to release which can take very long process by the time they get it (also the one determine the pricing and accessories include), they hype is no more and no point to release. It race against time. I personally owns 150 plus figma and 30 plus shf, mostly every up and down of figure easily to spot. Back to roots of collecting, why I still to shf and figma? Because the very reason I buy is because I watch those anime and play game. The reason I buy it in the first place.

That's quite the collection you have, and I understand what you mean. I'm trying to keep my collection relatively small at the moment and only getting figures that are interesting to me, so I'm still able to dust/clean them somewhat regularly. That said, I've only been collecting for about 2 years. The licensing and pricing definitely makes sense. I'm not too fussed with either. As long as we get more interesting figures, doesn't matter too much whether they're from official source material or original characters. I'm curious, which is your favourite figure? @NoGoodFigures thanks. well collect is subjected to one taste and preferences. For me I don't have attachment to character which I not very known. There people will collect because is cheap like my friend. But end up few months or 1 yr later sell off because no attachment to character. I hardly sell my figure because I forge strong attachment to character. Lol that why the very reason buy. Short story , the more attach to character the more you wiling tto wait or willing overlook its flaw . Currently I collect series figma fgo, figma sao, figma persona and racing miku. For shy I collect ultraman , digimon. If able to I would love post some picture for here to view.

Some cheap stuff which I've either kept or sold, others I don't really know about but just like the design, others I'm more lenient on because it's a character I like, etc. At the end of the day, as long as you enjoy your collection, it's all good. Yeah, customisation can be harder depending on what you want to do. She's listed as 1/12, and similar sized clothes should fit her too (e.g. Sweater from Chiaki)
