I've worked as a consultant in tech, this is 100% accurate. Also these people will act like they are the hardest working people in the world. And act like it's a war crime if you have to go into the office on a Friday. And they are the most entitled whiney group of people you'd meet. Working in tech is awesome and I'm so grateful to have a good job. This is rubbing our privilege in the face of people who work actual hard manual jobs, retail jobs, work in food industry etc. I've had all those sht jobs, we techies need to stfu, we have it good. And they have the nerve to complain about work/life balance

I work with PwC, essentially a clone of Deloitte. I'm pretty sure this is an accurate depiction considering how utterly useless PwC staff are. I switched role in my firm and was overjoyed that my new role had absolutely nothing to do with PwC staff. Unfortunately for me these clowns have my contact details and try to rope me into their seventh circle of hell every year. It takes multiple emails to get these twats to stop contacting me all to have it start again the next year.

I don’t work in tech, but Pharmaceutical companies instead. I understand your colleagues not wanting to go in, to be honest I haven’t worked from an office since COVID, and I have no reason to ever do it again. Tech seems like there would be even less of a reason to do so.

That’s BS, I was working as a CNA at a nursing home lifting old people out of their chairs, which most of them weighed like 3 to 400 pounds. Helping them out of the bath. These people again weighed like 300 to 400 pounds. Giving insulin shots to patients that if they don’t like how you did it, they will smack you. Sitting down with shit on there butt, if there’s no PCAs around guess what that’s your job cleaning them. Getting shoes thrown at you, because they’re just old and mean. Finding somebody shit on the stairs. Not all OK looking white women have it easy. there’s woman out there doing the nasty fucking jobs nobody else will do.

I once worked for a company like this not too long ago. It was a disturbing experience. Everyone was so childlike in their interactions with others that I knew it indicated that they were so hypersensitive that I could lose my job with one misstep or bad joke. The people were ostensibly nice... but when people are too nice, it indicates a pathological sensitivity and a reactionary and childlike mind. Corporate were doing everything in their power to instill this mindset. When the periodic high level "all hands" meetings were held, I knew that the corporate leadership were put into place via quota because they certainly weren't qualified for their position. They didn't prioritize the work, they prioritized these odd political fantasies. Of course the most high performing members in my department shortly left because in such a collectivist environment, merit isn't rewarded. Other companies offered them more so they left. For the same reason, I eventually left. These corporations will continue to lose talent until they no longer have anyone who can do the job sufficiently. I'll never work for another company like that again. I succeed best where merit is rewarded and incompetence is punished.

Man I'm torn because I work for a company that doesn't reward hard work but rewards the 'yes' people. The day to day work is great, but management is one fucked up CLOWN world episode after another! First off, it's run by a female who is a former Police Officer. She's this little obese dummy who can't spell basic words, but frequently sends out emails with misspelled words lol. She's got the attitude that you think she'd have. Gotta make up for not having balls & being around men all day... Then they just let a guy into upper management who his last job was a landscaper & he grew up in a $500,000 dollar house & he traveled the world on Mommy & Daddy's money. No job experience & he got the job over 3 other people who had a minimum of 7 years in this field! He's fake as shit, & he's looking to start a business doing EXACTLY what we do & his parents will give him the money. So he'll eventually be looking to have the job of the female idiot who hired him & she can't see any of it because he's fake nice.

It's the government who pays these corporations billions in Subsidies & grants & tax cuts & low tariffs & ..... The Corporations just do what the government tells them to do. the Corporations cannot even fire people. I did consulting & I've met people who literally do nothing & sometimes even making people to work so they don't get fired. Someone has to clean these offices & toilets & feed these useless people. You think the babysitters & cabbies & farmers & construction workers... make the same money & live like that? I don't know. Call it Nepotism or Corruption. But it's not about education or hard work or experience. It's bullcrap & it's unsustainable. It's what we call a fall of society. It's how all Empires end up. You have more & more idiots in power. @@deedeenutz1799 nobody ever said life was gone be easy. You wanna have an easy life, you gotta earn it. Sitting around blowing your energy n time watching tiktoks, n youtube videos about a dude bitching about some girl who's got a job that isn't real. When I was younger I busted my ass at a warehouse N earned a few opportunities... Id definitely find the time to grab a degree tho. It's a sure fire way to move up a hierarchy n get more money. I say go for a degree bc I've had jobs where busting my ass n blowing everybody out the water for years got me nothing but burnout n depression, not even a raise. Some companies do t respect hard work, like when I worked for DCF in florida...Rick scott cut our funding n all my hard work was gone just like that. Happens all the time in big companies as a lil man trying to work up. Get the degrees, community or lil colleges have cheap nursing programs, waste management, welding, whatever...get the certs, get the money. Time waits for no man. Start grinding.

As someone who collects Pokémon cards with my friend, and another child-at-heart, the only time I’d ever take pictures of food is if I made it, the food was arranged in a cute face or something like that, or if the food was from a famous chef. Even then, that’s very rare, and there’s no guarantee I would even post it at all (I rarely would)! Posting food pics if you’re not a chef has always been kinda confusing to me.

I’ve heard about that. It sounds like the western version of the Japanese Animation industry. Basically, all work without higher-ups understanding what is deliverable or what the amount of work is actually worth, and then stating that all of them work equally as hard. My parents own their own business, and my dad has held multiple privileged positions in jobs. I don’t understand how people can just enter into those positions without working so hard (having prior experience, I mean) and appreciating the work they’ve done beforehand. From the standpoint of someone with my background, a position where you do only minimal work/paperwork in a company is earned after years of work and effort, and should not be something that someone can just walk into as someone with no work experience at all. This is done so that you understand and appreciate the hard work that goes on in many, if not every sector of said company, and so you can make decisions and suggestions beneficial to those job positions and the company as a whole. (Edit: when I say my dad has held those positions, I mean that he was promoted to them, and even elected as the best candidate for them. He worked his way up the chain, and his work history is super inspiring to me)

They are just there to basically save taxes, is what i can imagine, to suck up budget and form a "mass" that can be relied upon: this way it becomes nearly impossible to complain and change the company, because the others(those who only play lego) are more and are happy with their..."work"....so what do you mean, union and rights?! what is that nonsense, I´ll get back to the oysters now...

My guess is that D.U. probably stands for Deloitte University, which would be in-house training at a convention centre they own. The way she talked about team building, it was probably the start of their graduate program, where this year's new intake gets buttered up with all this touchy feely stuff so they feel special. The cost is almost irrelevant because it gets passed on to their clients via their ludicrous consultancy fees. They'll have a team of 20 people go and spend 4 months in some massive corporation that has a new CEO, charging them $2M for the advice to reduce staffing by 20%.

Work/life balance? I haven’t seen this girl do any work yet, and we’re through her entire work day. I have worked as a software engineer for several of the major tech companies, and while I would never say that our jobs are hard compared to what literally anyone in retail or blue collar jobs does, at least the engineers actually work. Like… my team is responsible for building, operating, and monitoring the software that builds, operates, and monitors all of the other software at the company. The fact that we have people like this at my company makes me want to get promoted high enough to fire them. What a waste of money. What a fucking joke.
