I've worked as a consultant in tech, this is 100% accurate. Also these people will act like they are the hardest working people in the world. And act like it's a war crime if you have to go into the office on a Friday. And they are the most entitled whiney group of people you'd meet. Working in tech is awesome and I'm so grateful to have a good job. It takes multiple emails to get these twats to stop contacting me all to have it start again the next year.

I once worked for a company like this not too long ago. It was a disturbing experience. Everyone was so childlike in their interactions with others that I knew it indicated that they were so hypersensitive that I could lose my job with one misstep or bad joke. The people were ostensibly nice... but when people are too nice, it indicates a pathological sensitivity and a reactionary and childlike mind. Corporate were doing everything in their power to instill this mindset. When the periodic high level "all hands" meetings were held, I knew that the corporate leadership were put into place via quota because they certainly weren't qualified for their position. They didn't prioritize the work, they prioritized these odd political fantasies. Of course the most high performing members in my department shortly left because in such a collectivist environment, merit isn't rewarded. Other companies offered them more so they left. For the same reason, I eventually left. These corporations will continue to lose talent until they no longer have anyone who can do the job sufficiently. I'll never work for another company like that again. I succeed best where merit is rewarded and incompetence is punished.

First off, it's run by a female who is a former Police Officer. She's this little obese dummy who can't spell basic words, but frequently sends out emails with misspelled words lol. She's got the attitude that you think she'd have. Gotta make up for not having balls & being around men all day... Then they just let a guy into upper management who his last job was a landscaper & he grew up in a $500,000 dollar house & he traveled the world on Mommy & Daddy's money. No job experience & he got the job over 3 other people who had a minimum of 7 years in this field! He's fake as shit, & he's looking to start a business doing EXACTLY what we do & his parents will give him the money. So he'll eventually be looking to have the job of the female idiot who hired him & she can't see any of it because he's fake nice.

I’ve heard about that. It sounds like the western version of the Japanese Animation industry. Basically, all work without higher-ups understanding what is deliverable or what the amount of work is actually worth, and then stating that all of them work equally as hard. My parents own their own business, and my dad has held multiple privileged positions in jobs. I don’t understand how people can just enter into those positions without working so hard (having prior experience, I mean) and appreciating the work they’ve done beforehand. From the standpoint of someone with my background, a position where you do only minimal work/paperwork in a company is earned after years of work and effort, and should not be something that someone can just walk into as someone with no work experience at all. This is done so that you understand and appreciate the hard work that goes on in many, if not every sector of said company, and so you can make decisions and suggestions beneficial to those job positions and the company as a whole. (Edit: when I say my dad has held those positions, I mean that he was promoted to them, and even elected as the best candidate for them. He worked his way up the chain, and his work history is super inspiring to me)

The cost is almost irrelevant because it gets passed on to their clients via their ludicrous consultancy fees. I miss working with a fantastic kitchen crew and having something to keep me busy, so I wasn’t standing around doing nothing, even if it was just taking produce into the fridges, _something_ to do was all I needed to be happy. Being crippled has taken away my ability to cycle, jog, swim, play sports, do anything other than a gentle walk with lots of breaks, where I rely on a walking cane. I miss having a regular job and working with my hands. Then I see _this_ and I’m so, so disappointed. Being a Service Desk grunt, it is a job and you put the time and work. But I have lifted windows A/C units to the 6th floor with no Service elevators and work with Maintenance HVAC and plumbers cleaning the college international dorms. My tech job is cake compare with that HVAC job. And with paramedics, Police, firefighters, former vets as friends, when they ask how was my day. I always say another blessing and paradise to be productive. I am only one of many certain point-of-views. Whining was deleted from my vocabulary. 😅 Don’t kill me Gundam.

I was a IT service desk grunt for nearly 15 years, 5 and half of them working 9p to 8a Wednesday to Saturday, during those 5 days commuted 100 miles a day. By the time i left that job my car had gone from 25k miles to 225k miles. Worked retail for 4 years fast food and actual restaurant for 4 years, my first job was when I was 15 working for the local parks department, do beautification work. The longest I've been unemployed is 4 months in the past 30 years. Like you have worked many jobs, but the people in this video have no idea what actual hard work is.

The amusing thing is, if you talk to talented tech professionals who work in these shops the best thing about the gig is "working with smart people" or "the work is challenging", you ask the untalented people and it's uniformly "free food". They should just run a survey with three options and fire anyone who selects "free food". These people are too childish to spot an obvious trap.
