What’s that thing they say about Murphy’s Law?…we’ve been busy making calls all week to try and get answers but not only will the company we bought them from not even come out, we can’t even convince any other service company to assess the situation because of the height of the tower. We’ve got a call into the manufacturer (we sent them a few of our videos to show that we did everything right with the install) so keep your fingers crossed for us...at least we’ve got some Christmas decorating and lots of homemade wine to cheer us up LOL

9:04 Before you freak out about the windows, just remember that large sheets of glass will condensate moisture from the air. The house has been pretty much empty for a couple of years. Without functional ventilation the moisture in the house is collected at the windows. Everything from people, to firewood, to sheetrock will introduce moisture to the inside of a sealed building and it will move to the windows. I have wood sills in my house and even though my windows aren't as large as yours I have to mop the sills every spring and fall. I have to say that even on my 38X48 windows I get about a cup of water on each sill. And I have a very efficient HVAC system. This maybe the norm for your house. Dehumidifiers aren't too expensive and might be necessary if its too much water.
@melvins.80144 күн бұрын
An hrv system with humidity control is also a good idea
@beachton4 күн бұрын
When they mud that drywall you should be able to see the condensation forming on the windows on a cold night. This will reassure you that those puddles weren’t rainwater, just humidity condensing on the windows. Get a hygrometer so you can tell for sure when the humidity is lower outside than inside. Then open the doors and air out the house!

That water pooling on the inside is quite possibly the condensation that forms when inside and outside temperatures are drastically different. Since you’re not heating the new home regularly, as it’s under construction, along with doors/windows open often during the construction, the interior temperatures aren’t stabilized. Once you’re fully complete and regularly conditioning the home, this problem likely goes away.

Watching the tour around the house, I hope it doesn't occur to you to place the toilet facing the bathroom door, because according to Feng Shui that position is fatal for the energy of money. Also, opening a door and finding yourself face to face with a toilet is horrible. It is more elegant to see the vanity when opening the bathroom door. Big hug from Miami FL ❤️ 🇩🇴❤️

Dear Todd, I love to decorate just like you. I had a vision for how I want it to look. That makes it difficult for others to participate or even get the joy in doing the decorating together. Just take this as a cautionary tale: It's possible that if you continue down this path, you will end up doing it alone. My family was so intimidated by me that they quickly learned it was just better to let Mom do it her way by staying out of the way. My husband carried in all the boxes and then disappeared to another room. My kids hung a few ornaments at my request but seemed to worry that I wouldn't like where they put them. One tradition that did stick was "set up" and "tear down." My son was on set up duty. We had one of those old trees in which you had to install every branch and build the tree from floor to ceiling and then put on all the lights. His movie of choice for this task was "The Rock" with Sean Connery. My daughter was on tear down duty after I removed all the ornaments. She wanted to watch "Legally Blonde" with Reese Witherspoon. (Can you tell that my kids are about the same age as you and Tyler? LOL ) But for the most part, I did all the decorating alone. Now that my husband has passed away and my kids are grown, I would give anything to go back and not worry so much about how the tree looked. I robbed myself and my family from sweet memories that we all could have shared. Just something to think about. Blessings, Janell
@maxotat4 күн бұрын
I agree with you so very much. My mom always insisted the icicles be hung on the tree one at a time, with the same amount on every branch. I grew to hate icicles, then tree trimming all together. And I’ve never put any icicles on my trees - not ever. 😤. I’m now 75 years old and I can still remember how unpleasant tree-trimming became to my brother and I.

Todd, im with you on the tree decoration. In addition to the balls beiy placed at various depths, the lights can be too. Totally makes a tree look way fuller with a depth that draws you in and highlights various texture.
