I have a sister in Arlington. I don't know how you handle that kind of heat. It reached 81 degrees where I live in the mountains in Colorado yesterday and I stayed indoors until it dropped to the low 70's which is the normal high temp around here.

My friend I hope you and the family are doing good. I believe this will be the cold pattern for mid fall and winter even with it being a La Nina I'm encouraged because it's a weak to a moderate it's reminding me of 2010-11 and 2017-18 for the southeast (Georgia)😊

According to my weather in central Texas .. we are looking at triple digits until end of August ! To get hopeful for my area is clearly not happening! Wishful thinking about cooler temps .. is not optional for this area at all unfortunately We just hope October brings rain .. Drought is normal for Texas during August and Sept .. Sadly so

I'm a small scale farmer near Portland Oregon. All my fruit is 3 weeks behind, tomatoes are way behind and flavorless. I don't think we've had a 90 degree day so far in August. We've had several waves of thunderstorms which August is usually bone dry here in PNW. Seeing very early powdery mildew and rust.

@@johncerk2618 It was about 30 years ago in the Appalachians of Virginia. Got 26 below 0 and stayed below 0 for over 2 weeks. We also got 46 inches of snow that same week but the whole winter broke records.

Hopefully this cold snap goes away and stays away until late October. Those of us who grow food don't want early frosts - kills crops. The longer it stays warm, the longer the growing season.

It's been La Nina weather in North Florida for the last four years or so. Wet and mild. Don't miss 100°F days in August but I miss winter. Dog water froze on the deck ONE time last winter. I'm ready to break out cold weather gear that I haven't been able to use in years!

@@POWPonderonWeather And my point was that 85 mph winds seemed to do much more damage to these islands in the past. Perhaps they simply build much better than they used to. A small cat 3 used to cause hundreds or thousands of deaths with a direct hit on the Lesser Antilles.
