I am appalled at the amount of "super truckers" who claim a multi recall truck is perfectly fine, I've driven other trucks and none of them had any of these issues (except my first cascadia which couldn't actually drive straight at all) I feel as if some of them are the same people who probably have been DOT out of service multiple times rolling through the scales with a broken headlight, 3 flat tires and no functional gauges with every warning light on Peterbilt built the truck this way, they have an obligation not to put out a trashy 579 that has every recall in the book. Period Sorry to hurt the super trucker ego but that's just facts

I doubt what you state are actually facts. I only even heard you make one valid complaint about the steering wheel responsiveness. Turn signals can be added. Otherwise the rest is just your own personal opinion and no where near enough to initiate a recall. You sound like one of those self important millennials.

The truck it self has steering and suspension issues, clearly marked as a lemon vehicle (along with the rest of the model year 2022-2023 Peterbilt and Kenworth models trucks all had the steering issues and they couldn't fix it) As for the radar it's a standard feature in most trucks, useful to check speed of vehicles or predict brake checkers. Turn signal or lack there of could be an issue. Still have indicator lights on the back and side of the trailer. Also back of tractor wich can be noticed at night. But when a car gets up beside the tractor there isn't much as far as turn indicators go. Don't know anything about radar but I'm thinking they could be tweaked a little. The seat issue is easily remedied with a different seat from a different vendor. Truck was probably ordered with a cheap one. There might be an isolater option or adjustment lever on it. Commonly referred to as a chugger snuber. Look for it on the front of the seat. It might make your seat more comfortable. Get your steer box checked. Check for a loose linkage to the drag link.

Then a few 379s Now afrw 389s and just got a new 389 about 4 months ago. These 579s are a fleet truck made cheaper so are more fleet friendly to make it more affordable for companies to choose a Pete.Y h is is not a Pete but a glorified Freightshaker with the oval Pete name. All those things are put on the generic model along with an automatic tyranny to make it so simple that a child can make it go down the road. Look at the new drivers coming out. Most can't drive it without all the electronics telling them what to do. If you want to see dangerous vehicles go back a few years and drive a truck with a vacuum booster that doesn't work.

I was a test driver at PACCAR's durability test track some years back, and their trend seemed to be steering away from toughness and durability. The two toughest and reliable trucks were the Kenworth W-900 and Peterbilt 379. The Kenworth T-800 & T-600 weren't bad either. When they started to push the T-2000 and subsequent models, quality went down precipitously.

This guy has not been a driver , a stirring wheel holder yup, but a driver not so much. If you want to know what the status of a car in front of you is then try paying attention. Also if the ride quality is not up to your standard, try driving a truck with spring ride, then maybe you will have a legitimate complaint

I have a 2022 579 your company did not order the radar system but I guess they were ordering the truck for a driver and not a rookie that relies on electronics as far as a side signal that is also an option I'm sure your one of those guys that would like a truck that drives its self I would bet you would have scrapped your paints in my old 84 peterbulit never mind my 2019 389 Pete with the big motor and 18 speed

they need to bring back trucks from the 60s and 70s. Arm strong power steering, 2/60 a/c, heater worked great in the summer. 4x4, 13 over, 15 under, springs, torsion bar suspension, air ride seat all the bushings wore out. just some of the stuff. It would sure get rid of all the pussy steering wheel holders of today.

At risk of sounding ancient , when did truckers start expecting the truck to do all the driving? Been in the trucking industry since 1997 , more and more I hear a lot of diva complaints . Today’s trucks are increasingly getting more advanced, but at the same time trying to pay attention to all the creature comforts takes attention away from the road. Drive the Damn truck drivers quit expecting a luxury suv out of a tractor trailer. Don’t sit a watch the radar distance watch the road make sure it’s clear before you merge keep a firm handle on the wheel and be safe fellow drivers

Not to mention that the bendix or meritor auto braking safety feature will nearly cause a crash when it mistakes a road sign for a car stopped or thinks you're too close behind a car in the opposing lane in a curve looking it down while running the speed limit in traffic. But what do we know we're just dumb drivers.

You must be a new driver, it’s only dangerous if you rely on “radar” to help you drive the truck, just as dangerous as you belittling your viewers/commenters, you’re also complaining about how dangerous the truck is yet you continue to drive it, the truck is not going to jail if someone gets hurt or killed because it’s “dangerous”

Thanks brother I appreciate you. Some people just have it in their mind if it's not the way it was in their day it shouldn't be around. As a guy who likes classic cars and trucks shows I can understand their like of older stuff for rigs But when it comes to a vehicle it needs to work as intended. Which is why I made the video the way I did. Radar issue was just settings mishap. The other things were actually still present, had it checked by maintenance my suspension was "as intended/fine" so it's Peterbilt. Peterbilt is a fairly nice truck but this one just isn't too good. Maybe I'm not a Paccar guy?

If the tractor whoopee's, the fifth wheel is to far back. Aside from yard horses, I've driven tractors with slush-boxes but they were used for local area delivery only. If you're driving without using the clutch a stick is a lot more satisfying and keeps you awake. Between a 5spd maxi-dyne to a mack triplex I thought a 13spd was the most fun.

There is an indicator on the front near the fender. As far as the indicator on your dash, you have to go to your settings and able it. I drive the same truck as yours and never thought those were “safety” issues.
