Great weekend video. It still amazes me that ole trailmater does what it does. People spend thousands on upgrades and rigs that will never do what that old Chevy does.

I've said it before and I'll say it again TrailMater is such a Beast! It wouldn't be though without Rory at the helm. It is an example of "farfennugen", man and machine as one. I know I spelled that wrong but spell check is on English not German.

For the amount of use you have shown us I can only imagine how often that welder is actually used so having an issue with the regulator is not surprising. Taking the spare out of the truck is the sure-fire way to need it. Kind of like the ballast resistors for older Mopars. Good trail fix even if it took 2 days it still drove out. Nice touch with the mustache Justin. Thanks for sharing.

Mater can even stack its own rocks. Careful when the machines take over, mater gonna be one of the leaders. lol Real question tho. Can you explain the reason your trailers are not deckovers other than center of gravity? Just seems loading longer and wider rigs would be easier without the fenders in the way.

Watching the under vehicle view is awesome. As I was watching, I was thinking about how impressive it is that u joints on the driveshaft/yoke are strong enough to propel our big rigs over massive boulders. I know they can and do fail, but it’s still pretty crazy to think about as you watch.

That shot of you going up "no right turn" is about the best advertisement they could make for those tires... It almost doesn't even look real; they grip the walls so well. You should make them sponsor you a free set of tires for putting out shots like that for them.

Does the buggy have a loose motor mount? This maybe a crazy idea or you may already do it. A piece of lexan for the cold months on the buggy. It could clamp around the tubing. It would block a little bit of the wind . My motorcycle has a windshield.
@calholli52 минут бұрын
Rory.. I know you don't like to use it.. but you should throw some 6010 or 6011 rod in your truck too.. and I would have some in the size you have now, and a size smaller.. The smaller rod will burn so much better. (it takes longer of course, since you're welds are smaller). But that 60xx series rod is so much easier to use in bad situations.. The 7018 is a little finicky; it's really particular about moisture. If you get moisture in the rod, it won't burn right. You can fix it by putting your rod in an oven and baking the water out of them. But you really have to keep 7018 in water tight sealed containers, or they just become problematic. That's why 6010/6011 would be such an asset on the trail.. It just works. It's not as strong, but it will burn through oil and rust so much better than 7018. And having some smaller rod on the truck too will give you options.. in a case like this, if I handed you a smaller diameter 6011 -- it would have still worked really well. You don't have to use it all the time of course.. but it's just good to have a little stash of it on the truck and give you options in random times like this. ...... edit: never mind-- I guess you already have smaller rod. lol I spoke too soon ............ also, the spool gun is awesome

Love it. Again, nice views of the suspension doing its thing. 👌 I think it would be nice to have a camera on the boom pointed forward. I would hope you could get a third-person view of the vehicle and the surroundings. You may have to extend with a pole, and it would probably be easier with one of those 360 things?
