I tweeted about this and I'll make the same statement here. I genuinely feel sorry for all the people who poured all of their time and energy into working on this and it's the last thing they deserve. However, this needs to serve as a serious wake up call for the executives of Universal to stop being so pathetically cheap and to finally invest in a proper game, both for consoles and PC. They have continuously shown that they have little to no emotional investment in the franchise at this point and it is beyond insulting how they missmanage and degrade everything from the films to games and other products that are related to the JP/JW IP. In my opinion the only way that they can redeem themselves is by properly funding a genuinely well crafted revamp of Warpath Jurassic Park.

This is really weird. I wonder if it made less money than early stage JWA/JWTG or less money than current JWA/TG, because if that's the case that would be bad news for all kinds of new Jurassic stuff. Like, would they cancel a new show just because it doesn't get as many viewers as Camp Cretaceous? That would explain why we don't get any R rated Jurassic World movies/shows. It was really hard for me to play all 3 jurassic mobile apps, because Jurassic World Alive alone takes so much time with the raids alone that I just spend way to much time just playing these games, so in a way the cancellation helps a bit, lol. It still sucks that it didn't get the chance to properly show it's potential. R.I.P primal ops 2022-2022.

Well, to be honest there wasn't much of a game to be found in this one. You did the exact same thing in every single stage and nobody would invest money into something like that. And that's the most important part. If people won't invest in the store, then the game has zero future.

What's ridiculous is that this was the first six months for this game. There's no way that JWA or JWTG made as much money as they do now six months after launch. They had to have built it up. But JWPO feels like they are being impatient with their earnings, instead of investing their time and building the revenue up. But no, a game that has been out for six months makes way less money than a game that has been out for eight years, and that is totally unacceptable. Universal (and other big companies) are like this because they are not a person with morals or reason. It is a group of thousands of different individuals all with different morals and agendas, but all of that gets lost in the mess of legal documents and finances and all the business. It only exists to make money. Regardless of what Twitter posts they make, or who comes out of the company and speaks up for a minority, the *company* will NEVER reflect a moral *compass.*

Here's why an R rated JP film or show is unlikely to ever happen unless it's lower budget. Kids love dinosaurs. Anything R rated automatically will make less money since fewer kids can see it. Dinosaurs are expensive to create. Universal (and frankly most people) do not want to lose money by catering to a relatively small audience who wanted R rated JP when keeping it PG-13 will bring in way more money, especially from kids and their parents. This would also relieve worry over covering the aforementioned high production costs. Don't expect R rated JP (or frankly any R rated dinosaur media) unless it's lower budget or financed by a company like Amazon since they poured so much money into Rings of Power.

Man... I was really looking forward to playing Primal Ops, It had so much potential. Good thing they unlocked everything for the players who still have it, Kind of like a Dino Bash move (letting you unlock everything at the end of the game). Edit: Also, Rip Jurassic Park Builder, It wasn't the best... Sure.. But it was really fun, I found myself spending a lot of time having fun in the game.

I remember that my dad got a huge disability check (something along the lines of $150k) allowing my parents to buy me an iPad and they trusted me with their debit card being on there but once I found this game, I couldn't help myself, I ended up spending something like $13k (rounding down but rounding up it would be something like $23k) or something utterly absurd.. my parents got their money back and I was able to keep everything. I absolutely loved this game as a kid. I'm impressed it lasted for so long.

It especially sucks that Primal Ops is dead cuz, well, say what you want about it, but it used only real dinosaurs, no stupid hybrids. Alive has thousands of disgusting and lazily-designed hybrids, each with a crappier name than the last, and they all outclass the real dinosaurs and creatures, so people don't use the real animals, they only use the hybrids. But Primal OPs only had real dinosaurs, it made players USE real dinosaurs, not Spore rejects.

One thing I also heard about the game is that some of the renders they used were all frontier's designs and they stole some art designs from artists without giving them any credit, most noticeable is the rhamphorhynchus, it was made by the artist arielorea and primal ops just took it. So I guest we can add art theft to its cancellation. Swrve mentioned it on his new video

It's such a shame that this game is coming to an end, I was looking forward to playing it eventually, but I guess that will never happen now. By the way, placing Rexy, Giga, and Spino in your team was a very good idea, I guess you could almost say it was the 'Ultimate Showdown'! Except it's a co-op.

Really, the game hadn't interested me, but as it was significantly different in its approach, and was more for passion, fun, and a good passtime for those who enjoy the franchise, it was nothing short of stellar! That and it didn't make it glaringly obvious it was after your wallet, unlike a certain other game. Which is both good and bad for multiple reason through several perspectives, such as how it means a financial death to the unavoidable hammer of Universal, but the fact it existed at all, and the attempt was made is something to keep in mind, same applies to Jurassic Park builder. On JPB, I've known it before battles were even a thing, and when they came, it was rng on an attacks strength, a tail swipe was the weakest, and a charge was the strongest, while a special attack did the most, about 50% more I believe. It wasn't the best, but it was the first before refining it to the objectively superior Rock Paper Scissors like approach before its death. Although, if this were to Translate to Jurassic World the Game, it won't be biting the dust anytime soon, it presents variety and rewards patience, and you can get by without needing to spend a dime. Heck, I got a Metriaphodon for free from a 2016 pack just this morning, and at level 10 it's already my strongest creature by atleast 30% over my previous bests, a level 20 Proceratosaur and a level 30 Pelecachtylus. Whereas JWA rewards your bank account and greed to be the best, which I do understand the appeal, but to remove JWTG is to cut their earnings in half, as one cannot exist without the other, until they're replaced by their successors, whether or not they'd be just as fun, better, or worse is up for debate until they release if at all. So, I'm content with my park, my general plans for it and the creatures that reside, and mourn the lose of something truely unique and fun

I think Primal Ops was unique and memorable in that it let you play alongside your favourite dinosaurs, but I only watched the first few gameplay videos, because I thought the gameplay was kind of repetetive and boring

On this subject I can answer you with 2 words Force Arena. This game from the world of star wars existed for 2years, I put thousands of hours into the game, I was one of the best players in the world, I put into the game, converted to pounds, about 300-400 pounds for the whole period. The game had the potential to be around for a long time, then suddenly the Marvel games started disappearing and suddenly Star Wars. Some said the studio was losing money on it, or losing players, but judging by the charts and active players there were plenty of us, I judged at the time that Disney wanted full control of their brand, or wanted too much money for the licenses. What hurts and saddens me the most is that a similar game hasn't come out until today, even if it was from a fantasy world or anywhere but the genre of the game, it's a shame because it was extremely entertaining. The genre was Moba game, but one game took 3min. of time and they were 1vs1 or 2vs2 games . I recommend to watch videos of other players this was an incredibly fun genre and unfortunately until today nothing like this came out among Moba games, still the same, mutations of DOTA2 or LoL. I can understand your disappointment and outrage, I would also add that the game you are talking about never came out in my country, I don't know if it's the android mobile or the fact that I live in the Czech Republic, but here we have had overall bad luck. :( According to your videos I thought it was fine and wanted to get my hands on it, definitely this is my regret.

I only was able to play this three times- after that, I was never able to connect to the central server again. No game deserves to die like this. Another piece of franchise history will be gone forever, and it wasn’t a natural death- someone out there made the decision to kill it. Game deaths like these are a completely artificial problem, and it’s bullshit. Modify the game so it runs on a schedule and can be played offline, release the source code, SOMETHING, so Primal Ops doesn’t have to disappear forever. Or, hey, maybe don’t design games like these to die? It’s only a matter of time until the same happens to JWTG and JWA, and hundreds if not thousands of other games too…

If a game doesnt last over a year you should get a refund on purchases because at that point it really just feels like the game was a quick cash grab just to get quick money and then go. The game itself is really different because you get to fight along WITH the dinosaur's which I thought was such a cool idea and just very awesome all round. Sad to see it be cancelled tho. Honestly, I still can't believe this game is done. I just started playing this game last month and I enjoyed it a bunch. Really appreciate the dinos such as T-Rex, Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus being given as compensation and I'm going to try to beat it before it's shut down. Thanks for covering it James, really agree with a lot of what you said, even appreciating a non park builder game and the prices such as the Carnotaur deal was epic to buy, not too expensive unlike Alive and Jurassic World the Game where you spend a fortune for nothing. It was worth grinding and it was cool concept, hopefully Universal will approve another game similar to this down the road, we need some more adventure games in the Jurassic series and less park buildings games. The game was in closed beta or some kind of beta for *ages!* I was waiting for that game to drop around the time Dominion came out, only, it never did. I feel like the game only came out last month and now it's gone by next month?! I mean, dang. Something crazy and fishy going on with this utterly abrupt cancellation.
