mam is it mandatory to have toString() method ?

It depends upon the programmer. Even if you don’t write toString your code will work perfectly fine. But if someone’s trying to print the object, toString method is invoked automatically. toString is used to get String representation of an object. If the class doesn’t have toString method, Object class’s toString() is invoked which prints the hashCode of an object.
