Hey Stevie T…a huge Mahalo for your videos. I’ve been going through a tough chapter of my life the last few years, health wise. And compounded by the recent passing of my mom and sister-in-law only a few months apart from cancer. I’m glad there are people on KZbin, like yourself, that is able to share their zaniness with others via video and music and be able to bring some kind of happiness, if only for a few moments in a day. I have always loved music, I don’t like to pigeonhole myself to one or two genres…I like just about every style of music out. It is why I’ve been working on my degree in the Arts. But, I’ve understood the power of music from early childhood and ALWAYS turned to it when I ESPECIALLY needed an uplift in my soul. And have always tried to share music with others I’ve come across by sharing a song outside that person’s normal comfort zone. I believe each one of us could find at least one tune we like in every genre/sub genre out now. And I LOVE when I’ve turned that person on to something they’d never would’ve given a chance or second thought. It is one reason I changed my first thoughts about those reaction vids we see a lot now. I first came upon them from my kids, nieces and nephews watching other kids play video games. I could never understand the logic behind it. UNTIL….I came across two young teens reacting to songs from my youth(I was born in ‘68 and graduated in 1986…so, I was raised on 70’s and 80’s tunes. Right smack in the middle of it). And they were having their minds blown by the BEE GEES…DR. HOOK…FRANKIE VALLI…BOSTON…TOTO…..FLEETWOOD MAC…EAGLES….all faves of mine back then…and now. But, again….huge thank you for sharing your great sense of humor, young brother. Keep true to yourself, stay humble and NEVER stop having music in your life. Stay safe, Stevie T. Aloha nui….Keali’i Kahumoku 🎼🎶🎵🤘🏾

My 5 year old son has a lot of interest in guitar, especially since his dad played guitar a lot before he passed away last year. My son has 2 little ukeles he like to play but I'm gonna try to get him a 'kids version' of the same guitar his dad use to play for Christmas this year! I just wish his dad was still here to help him practice because I know absolutely nothing about it except what I learn from watching Stevie and a few others. He has a lot of potential though so maybe he'll be as good as these kids one day.
@johnjohn373712 жыл бұрын
There is going to come a time when you are going to be faced with a very difficult scenario...your son is going to be a kid and he will lose interest for a time. I am explaining this to you from some experience, as I made a decent living as an athlete for twenty years. I also play some piano and guitar. When I was young, the overachieving kids all seemed to have one fanatical parent or coach in their life. You know, the one all the other parents look at and shake their heads over when they hear about how much time they make the child spend practicing or how much money they are spending. My point is, every uber talented prodigy you see is being pushed, and I mean hard, by someone in their life. Now, as an adult, everyone of those prodigies is highly grateful for the unconventional childhood that helped mold their talents, but they all recognize the normal, fun, life shaping childhood that they were forced to forego. In retrospect, I wish my parents had rode me harder, but I'm fifty and second guessing my whole life, as you do at fifty. I don't know the right answer, but I do know that the decision is made out of love, no matter which path is chosen. My sincere best wishes to the both of you....

For every 6 year old who is being formally taught to shred the guitar, there is a 20 year old teacher who had to figure it out all on their own.

Not so much anymore. Any modern kid who has to figure out on his own must be pretty poor considering you can get a smart phone for under $50 on ebay. That's cheaper then any remotely decent guitar you can buy

Well adults cannot learn has quickly or effectively because their brains have vastly more complex neural networks. Adults form new memories(neural patterns) by reusing old memories, kids don't have some of those memories and thus need to create new ones which makes their learning more fundamental.
@roughsharkangular20345 жыл бұрын
who are u. stop spamming yt
@bjarnestronstrup91225 жыл бұрын
@IAmTheLiquor Lahey Yes, it has been proven that we don't stop leaning after 20's. But it doesn't mean we suddenly forget every muscle movement and relearn them every time we learn new skills, our brains reuse neurons that are related and overtime they will be replaced by the more optimised versions. Your brain doesn't know the difference between typing on a keyboard and playing the guitar, however "overtime" new pathways are created for each activity but some neurons will be always shared. That is why we learn new things faster in relation to existing memories even thought they might not be ideal, after some time the brain will separate concepts but it requires repetition. Children have much less experience and thus form more concise neural pathways faster.

I mean, if you're implying that shred music doesn't sell, then I have some bad news for you: ALL KINDS of guitar, heck, instrumental music doesn't sell. Our civilization has changed, and it has become dumber when it comes to music. Instrumental skills aren't appreciated anymore. All they wanna see now are glorified fashion models who can rap and dance.

2k6, I agree with you on that, I see way ,way too many young people into sheer bullshit ,C rap, for instance Kanye west, cant do a fuckin thing on or off stage, but young people will insist on spending a $100.00 dollar,s to see him live, WHY?? I saw a video of him trying to sing our national anthem , not only did he forget the words but was out of pitch,key THE ENTIRE TIME !!! it positively SUCKED , after he got done, the crowd went wild over it, WTF ??? it just doesn't add up, as for me, im a guitarist, been playing a long time, id say me and stevie T are about at the same level, here or there but pretty much we could share a stage no problem , in fact if he ever wanted to,id do a dual guitar song with him, that's something id look forward to, but I think the only people that would pay to see us would be guys and girls that appreciate good guitar playing, this generation has no idea what true talent is anymore, its so super sad ,but seems to be the absolute truth, I wish I knew what the hell was going on with,em the kids these days, that is, I mean, is it the name ? who they wear ? who they hang with ? GOD only knows why , I really don't know, good luck on trying to figure that one out, im out 2K6 , 9-29-19
