I grew up in a town that had a legendary high school music program which as long as I knew had floated forever in the clouds, top ranked in the State. I will never forget the first time I heard that High School "Big Blue Band" practicing outdoors in the late summer after supper. The percussion was Thunder near the end of a hot sunny day. I asked my mom , "WHAT IS THAT??" She proudly told me, "THAT, is our high school band playing!" Mom asked if I'd like to go get close... CLOSE??? Just throw me out into the middle of it!!! You know what was crazy? That sound, when it struck me, was coming from over a mile away in a parking lot they practiced in. We all piled into the car and arrived to a spectacular sunset behind a blast of shimmering chords. Completely overwhelmed, I sobbed uncontrollably. I was eight years old. I will never forget it. "His Story" behind this music didn't connect to my memory of it until decades later. They played, "This Land Is Mine!" The year? August, 1967.

I remember seeing Dudu Fisher on Miami's PBS station. At the time, I thought he was corny, but now with the recent atrocities committed against the peaceful people in southern Israel, this means so much more. Im not jewish, just but I stand with you!
