People that benefit from discrimination normally are robbed of developing such a talent. He grew up in a racist community and would play in the black community he speaks about what troubles that caused. Name another white American player like Larry. Maybe his not being racist even when his family and friends were. Blessed him.

I'm one of those guys that, where I like rivalries, I like seeing former rivals team up and work together even more. So one of my favorite stories about Bird and Magic is during their time on the Dream Team. They were playing these college guys to get ready for the Olympics, and the college guys actually beat the dream team in their first game together! One of the boys laughed at Larry that night and said "Hey Larry, you ain't hit a jumper since 1984!!" Magic overheard that...and the next day, he fed Larry the ball like 8 or 9 times, as Larry just destroyed this kid. He started calling his shots and doing all his trash talking and when it was all done, Larry sneered over at the kid and said "Young fella...looked like '84 out there, didn't it?" I love that story!
