Ive been waiting for this review. Since im itching to get the summilux 50 ASPH v1. But not sure if the lux is worth it. Do you find any obvious difference in its rendering?

You can’t really get the simera to flare. Apart from that and a bit more CA, it’s pretty close… Thank you for stopping by

@@robbiesumantri thats an awesome findings. Reason i asked is because my main used focal length is 35. So i bought summilux ASPH 35 v1 for most of my shoot. Thinking to get a secondary lens to complement the 35, i was thinking to get a 50. Although i know it wont be my primary lens. Maybe thypoch is a good substitute vs the summilux 50

Of course the lux is worth it. But on a lower budget I’d be happy with voigtlander or the thypoch

Great video and thx for sharing your thoughts on the 50mm Thypoch. I have the 28mm Simera and really enjoy it except the knob :) I currently have the 50mm Lux ASPH and often think about selling it to free some cash and get the Thypoch, since it will be more then good enough for my use cases. But for now I'm also able to afford keeping the 50mm Lux ... thoughts about camera gear, right? :D

Great news, there are signs thypoch might update the 28 and 35. I hope they don’t just remove the knob and add a tab. There’s more to “fix”. Judging from the 50 simera, I look forward to what they will release in the future. I say keep the lux though. I don’t think adding this lens to your collection makes sense if you have the leica. Maybe for close focus. But how often do you need it? Thank you for stopping by.

I got this lens and really like it. Btw, I’m using Hoya NXT clear filter on this lens and no issues with the lens hood and cap. Looks like your filter is thicker than the standard profile. Maybe you need to go with slim or standard profile filter.

This is a very good option if you are looking for a modern 50mm. Very close to a 50 lux
