I personally like AEG set and if I could buy it I would. I do have Gordon but that was a gift. I don’t watch the show but I think it is cute. In the beginning I hated it too but the classic series will always have a warm place in my heart. I am grateful and like many other fans I want to get into model railroading to make my own customs.

One thing that is also worth noting is the fact they use Joseph May's Thomas voice instead of the child actor's.

Because their was a CGI Thomas he didn't mentioned and what he did mention was the one before CGI and basically they where just reusing voice lines to make it easier

And $80 for a set with an engine that can talk, hv rc, hv a song, swappable faces, with 2 coaches and sets of rails included? and HAVE SMOKES too?? 😮😮 i hv no problem with it but... is it just me or its weirdly cheap, for sm set liek this? yea maybe its jus me.

People think "oh AEG has simpler designs so its easier to make merch of it" to a certain extent yes but they're going out of their way to add more detail that wasn't there in the show Yeah this might have been Mattel's plan the whole time At least for a long-ish time

I think that what Mattel should have done was make a ready to go AEG Thomas and a Classic Thomas that was more like an actual model train

It's... A set alright. Good for those who want AEG, but we get stuck with the older Electric models that are kind of... Odd in a few ways. James looks fat, Thomas looks like he is wearing the caterpillar's face from A Bug's Life, and some of the rolling stock that was released in expansion packs were just repainted Lionel stock to look like it was from Sodor. I know I am nitpicking, but when I even see Bobber Cabooses in a train set that is Thomas and Friends, it sort of bothers me. I just don't buy it, sticking with the bit of Bachmann Thomas that I had gotten from a few years back.

you're not nitpicking at all. we're not supposed to let companies simply spoon feed us whatever they put out without criticism. their Thomas line is a miss for the $ they charge.

@SodorProductions I remember when I was younger and didn't really pay attention to the looks much, I was all for getting the set that has Thomas, Annie, Clarabelle, as well as a flatbed with a very small Harold. I recall begging my parents for it as a kid, but they never could find it. And when I recall years later, seeing the face of the Thomas, it turned me away really hard. Looking like he had several dozen facial injections done, as well as looking like it snorted a suitcase of crack and much more.

Lionel, in the past few years have been re-releasing their old thomas line with all the features that AEG one has WITH the exception being the smoke and headlight

Now if only they could make a battery-operated O gauge version of the OG Thomas not only could have we gotten a more better proportioned and accurate original series o gauge Thomas it would have also been a better seller that would also be really cool

its not hard to make a 'good preschool show'. make them do this random activity or mistakes, have most common morals ever, a little singing, babyfied characters and done. i hvent watch AEG (and will never will. why should i? its for babies) but still either way its a good aeg show thats still mattel being lazy to make a more unique quality show for all audience and not just ez money.

Here is my honest opinion, Its sad to see the original thomas model go. Yet this model looks decent and either way, it brings kids to the hobby of model trains OG thomas is still there but here is a new one. Not to mention, Lionel never really got Thomas accurate.

Lionel’s engines never looked good, this set actually looks like the character they’re trying to portray for the first time in history. Lionel couldn’t tell a cow’s 🫏 from James the red engine when they were doing CGI stuff. What I’m trying to say is, if they did a CGI set instead of a AEG one, you wouldn’t get the perfection you were looking/asking for in this video.

AEG had some good sets and they brung back bullstrod (help if I butchered that name) but the new crap is bad and the SHOW I SHOULD NOT BRING UP OR ILL BE HERE FOR A DAM HOUR but I want the models back OR FREAKING BWBA OF ALL THINGS
