I think that it's a rather beautiful piece of film, aesthetically speaking. It's just what is behind the script that lets her down. She has everyone (including the chefs) saying "Before I walked into Meghan's life, I was a failure at this cookery stuff. Now because of her magic and love and joy, I can actually cook stuff!! Who knew?" No-one believes Meghan is magic, loving, or joy-bringing to any home environment.
