One of the things that has really surprised me about washington is how much “high desert” there is in the state. I thought most of the state would be tall pine trees everywhere but thats actually not true. Most of washington looks like how it looks here at Gamble Sands! Yup, the Cascade mountains block all of the moisture coming from the Pacific so half of the state is very dry.

Just got back from a buddies trip out to Gamble and you are absolutely right. Played three rounds there and each round was better than the previous. There's so much nuance to the course and how to play it that playing it once is tough. This series has to be a permanent reoccurring fixture on your channel!

I live within a few hours of there and got to play it for a high school match when I was in high school, it was a very windy day so for a high schooler it was very difficult, but so fun to play, I need to get back out there now that I’m a lot better at the game. Amazing to see someone on KZbin playing a coarse that is pretty local to me!

Gamble Sands is such a unique course. So much character on every hole and the pure, wide fairways run forever. Played there 2 years ago, had a blast and want to get back there again. Being from the western side of the state, it’s like being completely in a different part of the country. The diversity of the geology and climate over on the east side is pretty spectacular.

Sorry Luke, but when you walked into that waste area and saw your ball, I just started laughing. I was thinking these fairways must be 125 yards wide and you find the junk. Tough day with the putter, Sean should be three or four under, but that's golf. Your camera is awesome and nice editing as well.

You guys should’ve played Apple Tree Golf Club in Yakima while you were in the area, real nifty track with a cool island green shaped like an apple. Also Coeur d’Alene resort is a pretty sweet one in Idaho near Circling Raven with an actual floating green you need to take a ferry to get out to your ball, and instead of changing the tees for distance they will move the green further or closer. Pretty cool. Glad you’re in the area!

Awesome content. By the looks, Gamble seems to be playing softer/slower around some of the greens (#2) And on #6 for normal golfers when pin is front/middle, use the hill. If back you can land on the front of the green You 2 hit it so high/soft and that helps

I've got a format I'd like you guys to try. A little sumpin' I like to call "Club Carousel". You can hit each club in the bag only once before you go through all of them and restart the cycle. The sequence does not matter, just that you have to wait until you go through all clubs before you can hit it again. You have to be careful about planning what club sequence to hit based on the holes you have ahead of you. Strategy is key, but luck is paramount. If you hit driver into rough and the last club you have left is putter, well, good luck. If you're really good, you'll hit your sequence as planned without a hitch. Putter off the fairway if fair game. It's not about hitting the course par either, but rather the least number of shots to finish 18 holes and hopefully less strokes than your competitor. You can abbreviate it to 9 holes as you'll be hitting a lot of short irons off tee which can make for a very long round.

Ok fun comments game tradition; The Early Putt Call Challenge. Simple game: Out of every putt shown on camera, how many can you call? Post your score. Of course you gotta be a weird person who looks at comments first.. soo.. next time then for the rest of you :) Oh other rule: Hit pause right at the moment you think you can call the putt in 2 ways for going low: 1: If the ball is miss short or long and high or low. (So you entry might be "1:25 ball misses short/high.") this call gets you par if totally correct. 2: If its a make putt, you get a Birdie if you *also* call "In the Heart" "High side/Low side" or "Lip in high/low" will be an Eagle. (Entry is "1:25 Ball drops / Lip in high side") See... simple!
