I was in class in class 3 when E-sir died. I still remember we were young but grew up singing to his songs. Bumba train was like a street anthem and back then Ogopa Deejays were a big force in the music industry. Actually, all the artists signed to the label used to have a particular sound that most youths identified with.

I remember l was going home from school when I heard of Esir's death and I saw a dark cloud like literally 😭😭😭😭. Na nilikuwa class 8 but he had won my soul through his music. Crazy yaani!. I remember E-sir and nameless performed at ngong, and I went to see the show. After a week or 2 I heard on radio that E-sir has died on a road accident, I swear I cried like crazy I couldn't believe. May he continue to rest in peace 🙏

E-Sir's music played such a big role in my life as a teenager back then. I used to feel such a sense of kinship, especially because he hailed from South C, which was near where I grew up in Madaraka. I dont think I have ever mourned the death of a person whom I've never met before, like I did when he passed on. My mum even thought I'd lost a close friend.
