Thank you for being so open about how hard it is to persevere through a project like this. I’m a new electrical engineer working on my first big side hustle project, and while it’s nowhere near as fun looking as this one, it is certainly as frustrating as you made your project sound (the staring contest analogy really hit home). It’s been getting hard for me to keep a positive attitude towards it lately, and with how passionate I normally am about my field of study, I find myself less and less able to keep these dark feelings away from my personal life. Seeing you push through your stuff helps me to feel like I can push through mine, and reminds me that all problems that cross the path of a capable engineer are temporary.
@vosechu2 жыл бұрын
I spend so much time thinking and worrying about the “hustle” part (the money), that I forget to enjoy the “side” part (the fun, non-work part). As an engineer who’s been at this for a long time, my advice is to find an idea, ground it in the barest amount of financial reality, and then forget about that part entirely. Just enjoy the side part and the hustle will come.

programmer here - yeah, basically every project (sometimes even task) starts by constructing a perfect idea in my head of how I'll do it to be clean, simple and elegant, and as soon as I start implementing it, every step is just discovering new and new problems and difficulties I failed to think of, requiring me to think of horrible workarounds that complicate the whole thing more and more, later finding out that specific ways how I made some previous workarounds have become new obstacles for whatever part I'm doing at that specific moment... and often all of this accumulates to such a degree that I just flat-out delete everything i've done up to that point, and start completely over, this time knowing of all the complications, so I can design the whole thing again, in an actually good way that takes those complications into account from the start... ...and this process often repeats several times.

Firstly, let me say, “That is so cool”. Secondly, it would be great for a group like Blue Man Group Thirdly, my heart sank when I realized the amount of plastic waste that would be generated. It would be great if you could have an endless loop of self re-inflating (is that even a word?) bubble wrap. We could call it bubble rewrap. Anyway, great job with this.
@Dorian8032 жыл бұрын
Refilling is not too hard. Lots of things use foam to self re-inflate, like some camping mattresses and whoopee cushions. Resealing the bubble is more difficult because it needs to be so small and very reliable. I would scale up the bubbles to maybe an inch, and have a one way intake valve on the non-popping side made out of just a flap covering a hole inside the bubble. I still don't know about the resettable popping, but I know I've seen something somewhere that does it
@Slip-2 жыл бұрын
Since so few bubbles are popped, maybe it could still be used for packaging?
@edwardpaulsen10742 жыл бұрын
Since bubble wrap is so very often used for packaging only and is very often simply thrown away, this **IS** recycling it a bit first... it is also saving quite a bit of dead air space in a land fill... It is only generating "plastic waste" if you buy the bubble wrap ONLY for this and then throw it out. I would personally pop sheet after sheet of bubble wrap after receiving a day's shipments to relax and I was able to fit 40% more expended bubble wrap sheets in a given volume... I also went a step further by re-melting the dead bubble wrap into plastic sheets for building models. It can be done, it just depends on how much effort you are willing to put into it... it can even be kind of fun creating new materials from scraps!
@MauricioRPP12 жыл бұрын
She used the same bubble wrap roll over and over again, as the bubbles are not aligned between musics. Much less waste than expected.

I don't know about everyone but when I was prototyping a few project they all made me feel the same way. But when you complete and it worked. It is a great feeling a success and that why I would love to get back to doing stuff like what you are doing. But I don't have the room to do it in an apt and don't have the money to rent a place to do it either so, I'm left to have idea come to me write them down and just continue on until the day I have a place to do my prototyping and learning like you do everyday I'm sure of. Also, I always love your content and creation of weird and fun things. Thank you and continue doing what is fun to you.

I love that you take us through the process. I had a couple of the same ideas as you of the top and it was really interesting to see how they failed and how you then got around it. That's the fun and madness and victory of the design process. Its a little like crack, you know it will drive you mad but then you still do it again. Hey, lets design something random again! Also, I love the new new CNC tools! I didn't know about the drum stuff. I didn't need to know about the drum stuff, I don't have a place for of it even if I want it now! Maybe I shouldn't watch this channel? Looking forward to your next video!!
@gokuljosh11862 жыл бұрын
While I was watching this video I got an idea for a v2 bubble pop machine. One where there won't be any bubbles left un-popped. Bubble from same line keeps getting popped at a uniform speed , and the flutes move mechanical underneath the popping bubble based on tune inserted, once the roll reaches its end can reverse flow with flute positioned under a fresh line of bubbles.
@AngelofDarkness28992 жыл бұрын
I always love how creative your builds are! you've really inspired me over the past few years of watching you and i've done so many lil arts projects and made some cool stuff, but mainly, some very poor quality stuff, but you've truly impacted how i view my failures and i love making things so much more than i did before.
