I find it astonishing that in 2023 people do not understand slavery.Slavery dates back before Jesus.Centuries of people enslaving mostly same race weaker people. The Arabs,Romans ,Native Americans,Asians,Europeans.North America did not create slavery, and whites did not hunt African people.Aficans were sold by Africans. And black people were often times slave owners. Slavery exists today,do not be fooled.Adults and children are trafficked daily in this evil world of ours.We must do everything in our power to end it.

Who built the Great Wall of China? - 2,000 MILES LONG - SLAVES; who built the pyramids of Egypt? - SLAVES; Who built the Taj Majal? SLAVES. Who built the Coliseum and other historical buildings in Greece/Italy? SLAVES. Who built the Pyramids in Mexico, Central and South America? SLAVES. Slaves were used to suppress the ability of the conquered to retaliate against the victors, as well as to provide labor to expand settlements, etc.

LOL so they deleted the other comment they pinned -with the guy claiming this video helped with his guilt as a white guy- in favor of this one. Not shady at all. 😂 Here’s my response there as I believe it’s important that people understand you’re seeing what selling your soul looks like with these two. “Perhaps someone needs to make a video explaining to you that your ancestors not only bought slaves, they mistreated them-beat and murdered them. They fought a bloody civil war to keep human beings as property. When slaves were finally freed, they refused to treat them as equals, hunted, brutalized and hung them for many years after. If this video eased your conscience, then buddy, that wasn’t much of a conscience to begin with. So let me explain to you all what’s happening here. Right wing groups in the US believe that the reason white people are sympathetic to minority causes is because of guilt about slavery. Part of their agenda is to use people like the two who run this channel to peddle their propaganda in exchange for cash. They are playing the long game in politics. They believe these small seemingly insignificant steps will ultimately lead to a political climate more favorable to extreme right wing beliefs where white is supreme above all others. This is the reason why many of these popular black owned reaction channels are suddenly posting things that bolster right wing talking points or outright posting right wing content. Look at their videos and ask yourself who makes a reaction channel then all then all start posting right wing friendly political commentary on that channel? Apparently, a growing number of black owned channels. To the owners of this channel, be careful what you wish for. The money you received for the price of your souls is temporary. The the ramifications are forever.”

It is extremely important to learn history is not to repeat it. The correct version of no matter how much it might hurt. Slavery is a thing that has been worldwide throughout history. The only reason to say but it's not a white thing is hating white people for something that's been universal all over the world like they're the only ones that have done it..... Is dangerous. It's creating hatred to not tell proper history. When in fact it was white people or rather white majority countries that put an end to it. Not that absolves their ancestors of their practices. It's just not all cut and dry like people wanted to be. It also isn't to say that people in Africa or any other country that participated in the slave trade are guilty via their ancestors. It's just about the history and how not to repeat the same things over and over again. Slavery does on today and that's something people don't want to talk about. It's still going on and people want to concentrate on the past. It's so unproductive and a weak. Let's whine about the past because it's easier than fixing the problem we have today.

Why would any of this be taught at any kind of depth in American grade schools? Theres no "refusal" to teach these things, theres just no valid reason to spend what short time is dedicated ro history, on this topic, in depth. You ded. learned the summary, everyone did. Butin depth, does nothing to change anything you do learn about. And i have to say, im tired of hearing people crying that their newly found, niche history topic, needs to or should be taught in grade school. Its a general education guys.

Sadly, you're so right. I'm an escapee from the left-wing plantations, otherwise known as the ghetto or projects. I was born and raised in the projects and managed to escape at age eighteen. When you think of plantations, you think of agriculture or crops. What do white liberals grow in the black and brown ghettos, or what I call liberal plantations, "VOTES." Keeping us racially divided and untrusting of each creates a dividing line in our modern politics, and that divide keeps people of color voting for the left because they have had it hammered into their belief system that people on the right or conservatives are racists.

And think about the repercussions on people like me. A white guy who grew up in black neighborhoods. I’ve been shunned, bad mouthed to my face and even physically assaulted by people I went to school with and people in my own community. It hurts to be told as a young kid by adults and friends alike that white people are hateful and I’m responsible for slavery. Getting that kind of treatment all my life has caused me to just tell folks to kiss my a$$. I am me and not in any way responsible for anyone else’s actions. Because of that kind of treatment caused me to deep dive into research on the topic of slavery at a young age. They don’t teach it because it was a plan to divide us. Minorities against white. It’s a bullsh*t divide that seemingly worked…until now. People are waking up and comprehending that we all have more similarities than differences. We also have love for each other as human beings, no matter the “powers that be” want.

European here. What I have never understood is the fact that so many black Americans have converted to the Muslim faith. The Arab slave trade claimed by far the most victims among Africans. The lowest estimates put the number of victims at at least 9 million. And guess when a USA ally as close as Saudi Arabia banned slavery? Kennedy was president at the time... And what was the last country to officially abolish slavery? It was Mauritania. An African, Muslim state and the year is 1981. A year that is as familiar to me as if it were yesterday...

I am a ex British soldier who was stationed in Kenya with the Kenyan army doing training patrolling along the Somali border and one night we were patrolling and some of the Kenyan soldiers started acting strange. So we asked our man who could speak the language and what was being said was we were about to come up on a slave caravan and they were not sure what we would do. I have to say that it seemed like the officers were bent. They came up with a excuse to return to camp which we did after talking GPS data. We went and told a few good officers that were there that we were going out they said we are coming and the other battalion's had got wind and we left half the men keeping a eye on the Kenyan officer's and the rest of us moved out in whatever vehicle that would run as we were about to raid a country we had no right being in but when we ambushed the slave caravan we all knew we did the right thing 200 teenage girls 100 boys and only 100 adult women we were never going to give them to the authority's so we had contact with a Italian Christian mission and they were heroes and took them. We thought we may be getting away with away with conducting a illegal operation in international law we were sent back to the UK and if the Italian government spoke up for us we would have been jailed. I have no regrets apart form we only stopped 1 caravan the Kenyans said 30 to 50 caravans a month pass the other side of the border going up to the middle east and the new indo-Asian gangs

You are being manipulated. The reason black slavery was evil in America (and other parts of the world) is because of the dehuminization of blacks. Blacks as a people were believed to be genetically inferior. They were subsequently treated as subhuman. This narrative has been pushed for centuries in America. The belief that one group is generically inferior to another even violates the Word of God. Even today, many blacks struggle with inferiority complexes or low self-esteem because of skin color or hair textures. Many slaves endured unconscionable suffering. Don't use it as a reason to hate, nor as a crutch, but don't deny history.

In Florida teaching kids that slaves built the pyramids, the major waterways in the middle east and the incredible slavery in the United States. It taught my kids how slavery was much bigger problem than isolated to just us. Which in turn made slavery much more unforgiving. Working in Milwaukee then moving to Florida. There was so much less racial tension here in the South, then in a big city in the North. I see in it everyday I saw it everyday because I go into people's homes 10 to 15 times a day because of my job.

The issue is not the past or present existence of slavery; it existed for thousands of years. The issue is the dehuminization of blacks during American slavery. Blacks were told and treated as genetically inferior creatures. There were books written and laws enforced to push the dehuminization narrative. Centuries later, many blacks still struggle with inferiority complexes. If you read the bible, God gives instructions to slaves and masters. It is an insult to your ancestors to deny the unconscionable treatment of so many. Never use slavery as a crutch or a reason to hate, but don't deny reality.

But when you look at each area today. It is the Americas north and south have many more blacks today then the middle east. Why is this? Granted treatment of slaves were never good but in the Middle East they would castrate all males and this is the reason they took way more slaves but today do not have many blacks in their area. Just a crazy fact

I am a 75 year old white man. In the '60s at university, I was required to take U.S. history. The teacher(teacher?) was blonde, blue-eyed female. She worked up to the Civil War. She was saying how terrible slavery was(as it is!). And how the whites bought and sold slaves. A black man from Africa (I don't remember the country) raised his hand and asked the question..."How bad were my ancestors in going in country, capturing blacks....MY OWN PROPLE, and selling them to the whites on the ocean shores?" She was dumb founded! Then,a few minutes later we had a break. When we came back after that break she walked to the front and said "We will skip the Civil War because everyone knows how that ended." I was in the Navy, and I had a friend in the Marine Corps sitting next to me. Without even looking at each other, we stood up, raising our hands and saying, "Wait a minute!" There were others in the class doing the same! (There were 50 some odd in the class) From then on, she was very careful about what she said.

I live in SC and one of the biggest slave owners in this state was William Elison, he owned 68 slaves. Elison was only one of 171 black slave owners in SC. The fact that grown ass adults get surprised by something considered common knowledge everywhere else in the world is a testament of how ** up the US school system is. All you need to do is look south to the Caribbean and Latin American areas where slavery was pervasive to see this "hidden truth" is reflected in their culture, arts and history. If you are bored and don't have anything better to do, try reading "The kingdom of this world" which has an interesting (and fairly relevant) take on the Haitian revolution. PD: The line he cowardly refuses to cross is the role of the church in the slave trade in the new world. Not sure if that happens elsewhere in the US, I'm sure it does somewhere, but they just throw tablets and laptops at the kids and don't bother to actually sit down and teach them. Maybe things here in the U.S. could have been healed over sooner between white and black. My heart aches for the precious time we all may have lost being just one kind and loving race of peoples. Unfortunately he’s dishonest. He cherry-picks facts to push his narrative, and relies on viewer’s confirmation bias to draw the conclusions he’s pointing them towards (that he won’t say because he knows they’re not true). Just for example, how many in this comment section have concluded from this video that slavery isn’t about race? And how many comments assume or conclude that general conclusion can be extended to cover slavery in North America? That’s very much what he’s implying, right? Well, that’s simply untrue. While true regarding slavery in many places throughout history, the institute of slavery developed in North America was very explicitly and clearly about race. More generally, it was about white supremacy, and the belief that the white race is superior to the black race, and that black man’s natural place is subordinate to the white man. It’s not pretty, but that’s the reality of American slavery. This video is dishonest propaganda. So is Carol Swain (she parrots Sowell).

Most likely, they just thought of themselves as being luckier that them to not wind up as a slave an just took full advantage of the situation that was part of the culture of the time. And what about the white slave owners that, although in technicality, they accepted the slaves as their property, they saw them as fellow humans that were not interior to them but just more disadvantaged than them to end up as a slave and treated them with respect, and more like a poorly payed employee than a slave. I feel like a lot of people push the slavery thing with to much bias of the modern day instead of taking into account how the world and the culture was at the time. And its possibly been twisted into more of a race thing over the last few decade than it actually was at the time.

@Shawn and Mel I knew about this a LONG time ago. Being an Asian American, and actually reading about the real history about Slavery showcases that this has been a thing since sin broke into the world when Adam and Eve defied God. This set forth a world in which slaves became a real thing, and something that was so common, it was considered a necessity during Ancient times going up until within the just past few centuries, when *shocking* (though not shocking if you know history) White people were the ones to end slavery, at least within the Western Modern countries, while in countries like Africa, it is still absolutely prominent with Black enslaving Blacks still, and numerous other nations elsewhere. Whenever I hear people screaming "Slavery", I just shake my head because it needs context, real context, because at some point and time, everyone was a slave. Even within North America, the Native Americans killed, captured, and enslaved one another as well, which is completely lost in the entirety of the US history in todays day and age. Slaverly isn't a "Black" issue, but has been an Everyone Issue throughout history. Now ask yourself? Why did they do this? Twisting History? Easy Answer. THEY WANT US DIVIDED, PERIOD. That's it! This is so that those who continually push this, can use it as a tool to garner power, position and a foothold, by bringing up a twisted past with a portion of the truth. Basically they speak with the tongue of the serpent, for that is how Satan did it from the beginning, by putting a bit of truth into it, and twisting into his own "truth of lies." I feel that not only should you two as Black individuals whom have now seen much of real history that has not been spoken, but to forward this to your family and your communities too, which is so important.
