The way in which God was revealed to be with regard to his whiny selfish chidlish personality was a huge disappointment, regardless of whatever the source material created. This version of God was not worth the wait. I have wondered for some time if Seth and Evan got too distracted and busy with their adaption of "The Boys," which allowed this series to go so bad. By the end of this show the stars were all listed as the producers. The best two things about this series were the first season and the introduction of Herr Starr.

Anyone who would depict God in this way is a jaded person who thinks far too highly of themselves. An all powerful being capable of creating the universe would have more wisdom than these "writers" could even comprehend. Its clearly a puppet for the writers feelings: "All the other religions are good, no body is going to hell, and im (referring to God) an idiot" It's not clever, but it sure came from a mind full of insecurities.

Kind of like when that kid in school thinks he's the smartest one and makes fun of the teacher, but the teacher is 60 and has a PhD. Now it just stinks of immature desperation. Naturally, they have more experience with Christianity than they do with other religions. Why would someone like that try to mock a religion they're unfamiliar with? Another thing to consider: if a piece of media is marketed towards an audience in the US then it makes sense that they would target Christianity because the majority of people in the US are more familiar with Christianity than any other religion. It's simply about demographics. Most media doesn't openly mock Christianity. If you don't like that stuff then don't watch it. Pretty simple, yeah?

You can't strawman the god concept because it conforms to whatever the person who belives in god thinks and every person has a different conception. Even the biblical god isn't a singular god, it's an amalgamation of several different storm gods from several different cults/tribes that converged over time. Even the modern western veiw of 'god' is just one branch that diverged away from the teachings and diversity of beliefs of early Christians. One of the oldest branches of Christianity believed god was actually a celestial fuck up, one of many divine beings who accidentally created the physical universe as a mistake which is why it is flawed. The original sin was gods not humanities, and the savior of Christ is to deliver humanity out of the physical realm that god is essentially a jailor or demurge. By returning some far off generation to the spiritual realm. Not as an apocalypse but as an ascendants. They were called the Gnostics.
