Kevin represents a generation that will never be seen again I think. The hard working, salt of the earth Irish who went to the UK in the 60s looking for a better life. Glad he found a home away from home in Manchester, and never lost the accent 🇮🇪

The Grapes in Sheffield is a fantastic authentic Irish pub. 90% of the clientele are former navvies who worked on the roads and settled in Sheffield. It's also where the Arctic Monkeys played their first ever gig,

Its great meeting these characters in UK pubs. I got chatting to an aul fella on All Ireland Final Day in my Irish local in London(Mannions of Tottenham.plug plug), and he said he left Mayo when he was 15 and came to London without a word of English. He had hands like shovels! A proper gent!

Love this style, can imagine the bidding war for where you head next. As a punter living in Birmingham got to throw D.J. Quinn’s into the mixer

I'm hoping this catches on. You always say you are a man of the people. That's a great idea for content. There is always a good story to be told after a few beers.

I always say if Best was born in the 90s/early 2000s he'd be unreal. The way he could dribble that heavy ass ball on a BMX track of a pitch was insane. Imagine him born later with better training, lighter ball, much better pitches and they probably wouldn't of let him get on the pitch pissed and wouldn't of turned a blind eye to his boozing.
@matthewlacey53076 ай бұрын
Maybe. But he might have still prioritised the booze. And the laugh. Its a really interesting question though. Would Best have blossomed in the modern football system like say phil foden?
@fukhall67106 ай бұрын
Foden is class . Best was different level . Starting every game and winning awards and trophies at 17 .

Good mission you have there. Everyone with a little appreciation for the pubs of our cities must have this respect for those legends. It's the same everywhere, not only on your island(s). So I can very much relate to this type of content.

Get chatting to more oul fellas from Ireland, the amount if good stories to be lost from that generation will be sad, i often thought there was a market there for someone to travel around Ireland and interview the older generation and keep there stories alive. Even dive into some old folklore would be good.
