This Man Followed Me Out Of A Village Where Foreigners Never Go! 🇵🇰

After a day of touring the fascinating Kalash village of Karakol, I thought it was time once again for me to set off on my own towards uncharted territory. I left Karakol after chatting with a curious local and headed for the last village in the Bumboret Valley, Shaikhanandah. This was also the last village before the Afghanistan border. An entire province of the same ethnic group lived on the other side of that border, seperated by the mighty Hindu Kush mountains. There was no tourist infrastructure, and no real sights to see, although I was lucky enough to meet some friendly locals during my short time there. I was even invited to have some delicious Mutton Karahi and I got to watch my new friends make it from scratch. Walking away with a food coma, I met another local who decided to escort me the rest of the way back to Karakol. By that time I was ready for a nap and it was all I could do to make it back to the guesthouse on two feet! 🇵🇰

Pedesaan yg sangat indah . Tempat ibadah mesjid yg luar biasa. Serta penginapan yg sederhana namun sangat nyaman. Kumandang adzan sangat indah di dengar. Salam dari saudara mu 9:53 indonesia

Such an solid video... I love the kindness that is extended to travelers in countries that are otherwise veiled with the bias of ignorance created by assumption and preconception. I was exposed to many unkind narratives regarding differnt peoples and foreign cultures over the years and feel so blessed when they are shattered by personal experience.

Pakistanis are generally known for their hospitality, especially the people living in KPK and Northern Pakistan. They consider a guest to be a blessing from God. I hope you enjoy your time there.

I know you did not mean any disrespect , the Azan you heard on the speaker is as you know after visiting Pakistan Azan is call for people to pray it is in that culture & people take it very serious , I am sure they really appreciated when you paused your comments out of respect during the reciting of Azan I hope I am sayin the word correctly !

Didn’t look like the sheikhanadah that I just saw yesterday. Maybe that’s where they didn’t allow you in because of prayer time?

He had a mental illness but still seemed to know more English than most of the locals. In the end he was friendly luckily just had a different way of showing it :)
