I have an amazing tip for anyone who have problem with solder not sticking to metals to be connected with soldering. It works even on stainless steel surfaces. 1/ Use a cotton swab to apply some LIME-A-WAY onto the metals to be soldered. 2/ Wait a few seconds for the acid to work before soldering. 3/ If the solder still does not stick to a metallic surface, scratch the surface with a utility knife and repeat 1 and 2.

Just get another tip - that one is clearly damaged (probably used for poking holes in different substances (Leather, plastic etc)). Soldering Iron tips have a very thin coating that can be easily damaged - people think if they press harder with a tip then it will work better, but by doing that you are damaging the tip. Always make sure the tip is well 'wetted' with solder before trying to transfer heat to the object you want to solder. Always clean your tip, after use, by wiping against a special wet sponge - turn off your tip and then quickly put some solder on it; this helps cut down on oxidation of the tip as it cools down.

I'll point out two things: The soldering iron is too small to heat the cable and make the tin adhere. Second: You must heat the cable well and bathe it with a stripper, cleaner or resin. We already see that your invention fails to bathe the conductor in tin as it should. I insist there is no proportion between the section of cable to be tinned and the soldering iron.
