This *MANUAL* Golf R has 407BHP!

This week we were fortunate enough to experience Hutch's insane MANUAL Golf R which is running a Stage 2 Littco map from 'Devil Developments.' This car in particular has a Stage 3 racing clutch and an APR short shifter which made this car almost feel as though it had the DSG gearbox. The changes were lightning fast and the torque puts you in the seat throughout the entire rev range. Hutch's car is also on an heigh adjustable air suspension kit which genuinely stiffened up the car throughout the corners. This kit has height sensors which pumps air into the suspension to keep the car level at all times unlike traditional air suspension kits. The scorpion decat straight through system got us into trouble with some locals because it is INCREDIBLY loud and sounds like an assault rifle when you let off at higher RPMs!

I too have Stage 2 (APR) manual with all of the supporting mods. My upgraded clutch is also Stage 3 (Southbend) but the take-up is very easy to manage. It is heavy but not a problem for me (I once owned a New Age Mustang GT with a clutch like a leg-press machine at the gym). My Golf R is 2016 (MK 7) with 63K miles. As a retired senior citizen driving only 3K miles a year, the car should outlive me which is great not having to replace my car in this lifetime (barring any major accidents). The car easily meets all my needs (including need for speed) so there's no reason to replace it.

I’m not a fan of this kind of modified car but the owner being so sound made it a good watch. Pre short shift kit had the clutch allowed any faster shifts ? And what was the redline raised to ? Cheers

The clutch didn’t make much difference in regards to shift time but the short shift kit makes such a big difference and a deffo a worthwhile mod. Looking at 7k redline bud there or there about’s. Thanks for the comment and yes the owner was wicked mate, Makes filming easier, if only they were all like that 😭
