I don't understand when your wife/husband says they work somewhere, why don't you as a responsible spouse mark your territory and visit them in their offices. How do you just accept that they work somewhere and you have never gone to see them there. Pick them up or pass by for lunch sometimes. How do you just believe they work somewhere with no proof. Call their office land line at times to make sure they are at work and what business the office does. People should stop behaving like fools in marriages and believing things aimlessly. Do your due diligence as a man or woman. Know the person you are dating before getting married and when you get married, do a follow up - monitoring and evaluation process on what's happening with them professionally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. This may seem like a lot but when you are invested in someone, you better know them well.

You got that right.my late Father used to say " Trust but verify". That's one single piece of advice that has saved me a lot of problems.if you are old school era,you wouldnt attempt even to lie to your parents.somehow you'd get caught.our parents were like CID,DCI,CIA all in one.But nowadays we've relaxed,are less vigilant.we have men believing that their wives are going for chamas,Kesha's,baby showers,bridal showers,birthday parties which is not always the case. I remember sometime last year my brother and I went for a funeral of my one of my uncle's and the pastor said that my uncle would not entertain even fellowships in his own house.at one time he found the wife had invited church folk for fellowship and he chased them away.i didn't know he was that tough.i may not agree with how he handled it but I do understand why he would do it.i bet we have one thing in common,the fact that I hate chamas,fellowships, Kesha's because it's not my thing.But such activities though good, have been abused and used as an excuse to bad things.
