Your videos feel less like lessons and more like a friend hanging out showing you a cool thing he’s excited about. I absolutely love it! You more than earned my sub!

The way you talked and built the video is perfect for people like me who are learning to play guitar and need effective advice to grow, which you managed without the need for wonky effects or other stuff. Thank you

Great points! I find when I start practicing that my right arm is very tense, I think it comes from my neck and being quite hunched over the guitar sometimes
@jellyj81945 күн бұрын
Howd you go bout doing this?
@tobyhallitt79235 күн бұрын
Go about doing what? It usually gets better when I’ve eased into playing a bit more and am not trying to force it as much

I try to check in on my posture every 15 minutes so that I don't hunch too badly. Trying to mentally practice keeping your shoulders relaxed and back can also help with this

I’ve been playing a lot more and have noticed the tension thing. Gotta lay back.

100%. Sometimes when I'm working on something and can't get it down all it takes is me to sit upright and it comes to me instantly

Cool video! I’ve been trying to improve my barre chords and find myself pushing harder than i would like to and am definitely trying to work on relaxing my fingers/hand and still getting each note ringing out clean

Barre chords can certainly be tricky to get down. In my own experience with both my own playing and my students, it’s mostly about finger placement rather than pressure. Keep at it and I’m sure it’ll get better!

I've been getting better at catching myself getting tense and telling myself to relax and lighten up more.

That's awesome, it's such a subtle thing to notice when we’re practicing/playing!

Dude, bravo and thank you. I watch tons of guitar stuff and this is the only example I've come across addressing the physiology. In addition, you had interesting advice. Dude, well played. One interesting move is diggin in for bluesy bends. I've bit it on those and blow some tendon up my wrist and it feels like steel on fire but not melted. Anywho, fuck ya man. Appreciate it!

I’ve been trying really hard to not tense up while I play but I genuinely can’t, like it feels impossible to let go of it no matter what I’ve tried. Unsure what to do or if that just comes with being more comfortable playing the material in the first place
@mattfranceschini4 күн бұрын
I think it's a gradual process of learning to be aware of when you're tensing up and trying to keep loose and light. Definitely takes time to adapt and the only way to get there is to keep checking in with yourself.

@ Yeah, it’s almost like I don’t know HOW to relax. It’s odd. Just hoping it goes away as I start to become more comfortable with the instrument (still a relative beginner lol)

my main source of tension is the fact that i suck
