The game is mindblowing but it doesn’t look like a battle game gacha for me, i think this is more like GTA set in Anime World where the game is heavily focused to Roleplaying stuff that’s why a bunch of things is interactable, yes you can fight bosses, but those are just addition to the game. But my comment is only based of trailer, so its 50/50 being a Gacha Game or Roleplaying Game.

It would not make much difference or impact if it was born in Japan though. Thanks to Chinese gaming market for proving that Gacha game with quality is worth investing. It has some cultural and historical backgrounds which is too lengthy to explain, but in a nut shell, Mobile gaming is proven to be the most popular in China comparing to PC and console (console is a joke in China) . Gaming company if given funds and supports, would prefer feeding them all into mobile gaming nowadays. (Only a very few daredevils have the guts to make another Blackmyth Wukong) Meanwhile Japanese companies stay in their comfort zone making cheap Gacha and only focus on single player console games, like forever.
