When Carter sent that jump, the crowd got the loudest they were for the entire event..That's louder than, Jett, Tomac, Roczen, Deegan, etc...He won the race, fair and square. Those other kids absolutely rip too...Smart is another little legend!

@@CookseyMediacooksey you should reach out to some of the riders with your clear out right knowledge of changes that need to happen. And tell them to stand up to the AMA and implement the changes needed or we are not going to race. It's obvious they should only have 13 rounds of supercross. Maybe even 11 these guys are just pushed to their limits. Keep up the good work bro !

Carter Gray won. Period. That finish line wasn't as dangerous as they made it to be
@yamahakid450f
@yamahakid450f 3 ай бұрын
While I agree he won regardless... it most definitely is that dangerous on a 65.. blind take off, deep rutted faces from big bikes, a tiny wheel base so the steep face robs speed compared to a big bike, and on the run in you have to get that single before it perfect so you have the drive and traction, and get each shift just right, including the shift at basically the bottom of the face when you're already committed, so if you miss it, you're still committed...and then seat bounce and stretch the absolute shit out of it to just barley get it. Yeah, it's gnarly.

As a dad of a kid that has a 65 you sometimes need to put limits on kids. They get caught up in the moment and maybe they never thought about hitting a triple but you get some friends watching or people even videoing recording and people will sending all of sudden. You can’t have a kid die on live tv or in general at a motocross event. They stated the rules and he broke it rules are rules.

Rock Springs??? Dude, back in the day, the Little Sin City. During the first half of the 80s i did a lot of oil field work out of that place. OH!, the memories. Now,,,, i'm sick of this pc thing with Sexton. Yes, he is fast, usually the fastest man of the day. The best,,, no! His championships, like it or not, have come when the top dogs get sidelined by injuries. Plain & simple!!! Jet is not my man, but he has a talent that might be the best we've ever seen. Tomac is my man. Yes, it is going to be great when Degan gets up to the premier class & challenges Jet, but he isn't going to be able to ride a big bike like he does a 250. It will thump him, he will get injured, his career will be short. So what does this old man in a cowboy hat know about motocross??? Putting a red cross flag at the start/finish line to prevent the kids from jumping needed to much brain power and coordination from the AMA brain trust and with the flag guy at the start/finish line to implement, much easier just to penalize the little kids after the event.. Eli was looking pretty good even with that paddlel tire, but Jet is unbelievable. That kid is one in a generation for sure. Not sure about Sexton. I think that helmet is sick, I'm having my razor wrapped this week, and it is being wrapped in a dazzle camouflage (the way they painted WWI ships to try and to confuse the German U-boat Captains from torpedoing them) the same colors as that helmet.

I’ve mentioned this in previous videos and you did touch on it today, the riders and teams have the power and here’s the issue of the riders and teams are not concerned with the placement of the tuff blocks and say something after track walk or practice nothing will change. So do we or mx sports feel if the riders and teams are not complaining everything must be ok and if someone gets hurt do we blame mx sports? maybe but if rides and teams did not ask for these changes whos at fault?? If gray was told not to jump he got what he deserved because if the ama did not follow through then we would be bitching about that. You buddy in rock springs got what he deserved he shouldn’t be Smokin dope and racing anyway that could get other riders hurt and he chose not to go to riders meeting, shows lack of respect to the rules and other riders.

Thank you for Carter grey comments!!! Those kids know what they can and cannot do. He only did it once. That was because he knew when and when not to go for it. If Eli actually wants it he has the skills and speed to do it. But he has to really want to step up. He has the mental strength to break Jett’s train of thought enough to become uncomfortable for a while. He won’t hold Jett off forever. But, just like Eli was when he was younger he will mature and become the assassin. I just hope Eli wants it for another full year.

Tomac lurking? I dont think so. Maybe as much as Sexton is lurking. Even at comeback from injury pace once Jett wicks it up they are both toast. You can easily see when Jett goes from pacing along behind Tomac, and when he lights the afterburners and checks out. This first SMX race will have given Chase PTSD. Jett has beaten him SO many times, 1st time back Sexton isnt in the same time zone with Eli or Jett. A bummer.

I heard carters trainer told carter if he thought he could do the jump to do it. This is after they told every rider not to do it. So he knew. Its still bs to take the win but his trainer is a pos for saying that. Bad trainer. There was another kid that did it but he was like 16th got docked 2 positions.

I feel like Jett can just win and ride good on any bike setup even if he's not comfortable, everyone else's that's fast needs that perfect setup to push. Why don't they use the tuff blocks and stake them around and over the barriers

Cooksey i belive you wrong. One race day ET3 hung un there. But thats nit how its gonna go. Jetts gonna get better each race. Jett wasnt hitting the quad, obviously taking it easy on his thumb. Once Jett gets into the swing of things again. It gonna be not so pretty for the rest,including Tomac. Jett followed and then stepped it up when he needed. Didnt panic or override his bike. This is something else

Okay so they made the rule before the race and they all knew about it. Did Carter do it every lap, or just on the last lap? If he didnt do it every lap and just decided to do on the last lap, that tells me he knew about the rule and said screw it, im sending it and it is on him.

I agree with the ending of this video. We (anyone who ever raced a dirtbike anywhere or participates in dirtbike riding) don't want to talk down on the AMA or anyone else in charge of racing but jeeeeesus some of this stuff is just horrible or flat out ridiculous.

So the argument is that there were 2-3 others doing it as well. Him being the only one is false. So that gave him an advantage over the other couple that were doing it too. I was there Friday for practice as well as Saturday for the races, etc. he was ripping either way. But yeah he's not the only one. But is the only one that didn't listen to that rule.

Hey Cooksey love your show! I heard a show or two ago you may be thinking about moving to Thailand and just got me thinking about how your experience was there and what jumped out to you to make you consider moving? I know is off topic but leaving the U.S. is something I’ve been considering as well.

FELD (spelling?) does next to nothing to protect the riders. In that no protection along the cement walls, no protection from concrete floors off the main track in Supercross, no protection from the asphalt floor off the main track in this race.

I'd love to see tomac win smx, but jett has something that eli doesn't and that's the ability the hit that "fuck it" button on a wimb that only comes with youth and having no babies at home. The pass by jett in the second moto was purely jett hanging it out there. I'm putting my money on jett.
