I feel the need to comment this as the video also has him saying he doesn't really like scorch, as far as my personal testing goes, The air quality boon ALSO applies to each tick of scorch. Kinda makes scorch PUMP

Well so long as you aren't dealing the max scorch per second (40) it should work. The problem isn't whether it works, it's whether it would be good even if it did. I suppose Hestia's sprint is a decent combo if it is your only scorch boon, but otherwise you should be dealing more than 30 scorch per second anyway. UNLESS your saying it applies to every application of scorch, which it shouldn't, the way it is worded, but would be good if you got a common Hestia attack.

I still don't understand the appeal of scorch. The damage just ticks down too slowly to be interesting. I'd rather have the damage NOW

@@JawlessPaul That's fair, without the boon for stacks to pop at certain intervals or the legendary boon it definitely can be rather taxing to wait for the damage

@@JawlessPaul But Paul! BIG NUMBER! Being serious, though, the cast seems pretty strong to me, just cause (I think) it is the strongest cast that doesn't require channeling. And I guess it can be combo'd with Demeter's Gale Force for easy P status on the same button. The tier 2 boons do seem to boost her more than other gods, so it could be something of a Magikarp situation, where she's weak alone, but has powerful combos I haven't seen in action yet.

The Heracles interaction isn't a wager for the other's money, like with Nemesis, but rather a competition to see who can kill the most enemies, and the tally is measured in obols. Also, if you want "over 1,000 hours," then you should see the time I've put into Persona 4 over the past 15 years - between the PS2, Vita, and Steam releases, I'm *EASILY* over 1,000 hours.

Persephone isn't actually a Demigod in myth, that's something Supergiant added in Hades 1 to make it all a little bit less 'incest-y' and to add a reason Zagreus isn't as inherenty powerful as all the other god characters (and also to explain why he bleeds red i think)

I was also surprised by the change to the resource gathering mechanic. I actually misread the patch notes and thought they were going to add a late game incantation that allowed you to gather anything and had no problem selecting one tool at a time. Granted, I only swapped between the pick and shovel as needed, so I didn't catch my first fish until after the patch 😂

I didn’t have a problem with the old way either, but I think they did a great job of making a compromise for both sides of the argument. This removes the FOMO aspect of it, while still making your choices matter

Yeah, it just seems that it's always more valuable to bring the pick or shovel. Once you've gotten the grasp maxed out (or soft capped) then you don't really need to hoard it anymore.

I think the main utility of Scorch in its current incarnation if a Privileged Status / Origination enabler, sincs extra stacka extend duration it's pretty easy to keep a boss in a near permanent burning state which makes balancing your status inflicting actions much easier. Especially potent for Aphro since she doesnt contribute status with her attacks anymore, just damage, so a high scorch stack lets you alternate Aphro attack and your other status without needing a 3rd action in the cycle. Not to say that Scorch is the best status for this purpose, Freeze still has it beat because it lasts so long without needing to stack, but rather to say that if you ARE using Scorch, this is what youre using it for lol

K prediction for a complete Olympus run. I heard Haelian say that they’re planning to include all the gods from Hades 1 atop what they already have, but that might make runs have too much variation. I think that chronos will at some point in the game, gain the upper hand in the battle up there, and he’ll start to capture gods. Then, runs to the surface will allow you to free them so that they are available in the boon pool. Also, I’ve only seen Eris mention Ares, and she turned against us, I think there’s a good to fair chance that Ares himself is the boss on Olympus, and he’s trying to keep the war going, so he chooses to balance out Melinoe now that she’s able to do so much when she comes to the surface.

Air Quality is even stronger on Apollo's Omega cast. 10 damage (turns to 30) each 0.12 seconds instead of each 0.25 (8 times vs 4 times per second). Gave me my first Eris victory. Bonus if you can get Demeter's "cast also does a cyclone" as well (Gale Force)

Damn ! That was certainly a fun cast build ! Each time I got Air quality, I always happened to have the axe, so I never really bothered with it, but this is a great example of its potential. Wondering if on the knife with scorch, it boosts the damage as 30 per knife strike AND 30 per scorch. That'd make 60dps for the knife, which is not half bad if you can land all the hits of the knife's combo (and if scorch actually makes it till the end, unlike against teleporto-Chronos).

Yeah, I am still extremely unimpressed by scorch. The fact that it doesn't increase the dps, but just adds more stack of damage is trouble. You are almost always going to get better results with a different boon. I will have to do more testing though... some people swear by it.

@@JawlessPaul I'm guessing it's kinda an Ares doom curse + dire misfortune, but without time limit and bit by bit instead of all at once (unless you've got fire extinguisher, that acts a bit like Dire Misfortune). Hestia's legendary Pyro Technique does accelerate the process, though, but you need 3 whole tiers of her boons to get it. It's a lot of setup to make scorch interesting. Although on the paper, some duo boons can make it OP (like the one with Demeter, that adds 100% scorch on an enemy whenever you freeze it), but I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

@@JawlessPaul It's quite strong when you use Pan's Knife special spam and have the Hestia boon that also converts X amount of scorch damage to immediate burst. The build excels against guardians and bosses (fastest run against Chronos I've ever had was with a scorch Pan's Knife build), but is mediocre in general mobbing. I think Hestia boons are great, but can be taken to god-tier if the stars align. They're a lot more creative than special spam Poseidon builds at least.

Oh yeah, they boost the odds of finding drift wood, but I haven't got iron in a while. Also, they reduced the Eris underworld encounters, but, even before the patch, I have yet to have her appear and give me a strife boon. Not that I'm complaining about the latter, but I had found it weird that she shows up in the Crossroads and I fight her on the surface yet never in the other route for me.

Eris only appears on first and second run IF you defeat first boss the first time when passing oceanrius and if you defeat scylenia, you can see Eris again while on your way to the fields. It is pointless. it just adds -negative bonus to the run so you are near guaranteed to die.

I think they changed the gathering to make it quicker. It did feel like a long time to start unlocking things I wanted to.

Yep, they certainly made it easier to get stuff, but they also dramatically reduced the number of resource items that spawn.
