My husband and I took a last minute decision to climb this a couple of years ago after an early boat trip from Elgol. Cloud descended and the rain came with it as we got to the point where you took the wrong path. At 60, inexperienced and only making occasional forays up mountains, we turned back. I have subsequently developed arthritis in a knee and am staring down the barrel of a knee replacement. I don't expect to ever be able to manage climbs like this again, so discovering your Munro journey has been an absolute joy. This one is my favourites so far. Your straightforward approach to the climbs and love of the majesty of the scenery that surrounds you coupled with the quality of your video output have made your channel unmissable for me. I look foward to more ascents with you next year. Thank you so much.

My favourite place in the world, great memories of Blaven with the finest view in the whole of the British Isles, I'd say the view from Sgurr Na Stri overlooking Loch Coruisk is a close second. Great film!

Just to say thank you James for such a brilliant series. I look forward to every one. If my life had gone differently I might have aimed to do them although like many the most difficult few might have defeated me. As others have said, you have done a great thing in bringing these climbs and views to the rest of us in such a warm self-effacing way. Re the last one I guess you have to consider the capability of your friends, where they live, what the weather might be like if you have to fix the date in advance and so on. For those reasons my friend completed on Ben Chonzie, not the most exciting but might fit the bill. My guess is that quite a few of your remaining 59 are one in a day merchants, or two at the most, so I wish you the best of weather for 2024.

I have just signed up with a guide to do the Inn Pin and am bastier for next may as i did the others about the same time that you did the ridge , got Bla Bheinn to do as well, that leaves the fisherfield 5 ," cheesecake " and Ben More on Mull . My final one is Bynack More as its the closest to home , i never thought about how i was going to finish when i started this journey 35 years ago . For me the view from the trig point looking across to the ridge was very emotional , one of your best drone work as well , cheers from Brechin

An Teallach was definitely one of the best days I've had in the mountains. But personally speaking, I don't think it would be the best choice for a final Munro, as any friends/family with little hillwalking experience and/or a fear of heights would find it pretty challenging! And it's pretty remote, not the easiest one to get to. Have you done all the Corrour Munros? They're not too difficult or dangerous, especially Beinn na Lap, and you can book Loch Ossian Youth Hostel, the entire space - great place for a party!

Yeah I agree, a fine mountain but not ideal for others to join.. haven’t decided if I will do it solo or not yet so better start with that 😅 I have done Beinn na Lap but still have the other duo, that is one option 😂 I also have Stob Ban in the Grey Corries as an option, close(ish) to Inverness with a bothy nearby 😁 Cheers, James

Yep, always the last Munro one Skye and always without the obligatory guide. Brings back many memories of (a) swearing I saw a man sitting by the wee lochan who when I got closer had gone. My then recently departed Dad? Who knows but someone was maybe looking after me and your love of Beluga Lagoon and the track we played for reflection (forever in the river) at my Mums funeral a few months ago. Hi James ,did exactly the same thing two years ago ,it is possible from the south . The day couldn’t have been better ,the view over to the Cullen Ridge was just amazing and whilst I have breath in my body and the legs to carry me I will always go back to the Isle of Skye . I did Gillean,Am Basteir, Frithe,Alasdair,and Dubh Mor ,Nan Eag this year. The weather was perfect and had the most amazing views ever!!I was also suppose to do the Inn Pin but the Company that was supplying the guide had to cancel because of the tragic death of their company director and two clients the previous month. I have 5 left to do which hopefully will be next year .Yet another great video James .Thank you 👊👊

Hi Jason, it must be an easy mistake as its well trodden to the south top - I did some reading afterwards and found out it was possible 😂 fantastic you managed to get them done in Skye this year, its a magical place for sure. I had filmed 4 days in Skye with the guide you mentioned, Dave from West Coast Mountain guides. A real shame for him and everyone involved, he was a brilliant guide. Hi James, 10 out of 10 for the video, they just keep getting better and better and thanks by the by for introducing me to the fabulous Beluga Lagoon. I remember Blaven from many moons ago, my penultimate Munro....don't feel too bad about finishing, plenty of great Corbetts and lesser hills....Suilven my fave in all of them. Fantastic video James, wow it brought back memories. I too have the 'which one to finish on' dilemma' coming fast. An Tellach would be a fine finish but it is not for family or friendly to those with less experience of the hills. A hard compromise - have decided to do Ladhar Bheinn as a penultimate solo excursion with the dog and finish on a "anyone can come" summit with a celebration - Beinn na Lap.

I think its a great plan - I have 14 to go, so maybe in the late spring all being well. I've done most of my hills on my own, so a 'solo' penultimate foray onto Lardhar Bheinn should be special and I think its the right thing, allowing me to spend the last with all my family + friends. I sorely regret not leaving some short/easy ones as i approach the end, I've some hard days to complete in the coming months like Beinn Heasgarnich & Maoile Lunndaidh. Was on Skye during the recent half-term staying at 9 Torrin. Managed to do a couple of short climbs - one up Belig with my two labradors, which is a steep haul up to 2,300ft from the head of Loch Slapin, and the other with my totally blind friend from Kilmory to a similar height on Blaven's south ridge (amazing views to describe throughout). My friend enjoys a good scramble but is well aware of his limits and mine as his guide!

20 odd years ago I climbed Blaven in the rain and mist so didn't get any of these wonderful views. We also went wrong on the route up as we ended up clawing our way up an evil scree slope that brought us out at the narrow ridge between the summit and the south top. We then for some reason decided to go back over the south top once we had visited the summit and I can remember stepping very carefully along a very narrow ledge with a big overhanging step around in the middle of it but we all made it to the other side in one piece thankfully. As for the last one it really depends on who will be there with you. I knew there would be some non hillwalking family and friends at my compleation so I kept Ben Chonzie for the last one. Not as spectacular as An Teallach but it did the jib for me. Cheers.

Hi James. Fantastic, magical place, that corner of Skye. When you've done all the munros, go back sometime, walk into Glen Coruisk from Sligachan with a tent and stay overnight, or for a few. On a good day head up Sgurr na Stri for I think the best view in Scotland. It's the best lunch spot I've ever had in the hills.

I'm not fluent in Gaelic, but I always thought Bla Bheinn meant warm mountain due to is proximity to the sea, so tends to have less snow. The Gaelic for blue is Gorm? Last munro to complete, Seana Bhraigh, it was my first as I worked at the lambing on the estate nearby at Glen Achall. One of the most remote and best views in Scotland

None of these are ideal if you're taking less experienced friends/family though. I completed on Ben More on Mull, a straightforward hill, made a weekend of it with a few celebation drinks in Tobermory with friends. Was thinking of Schiehallion if i finish my second round, just over 100 in so far!

Wonderful video as always. The south ridge of Blaven is probably the easiest ascent so carrying on would have been fine. The col between the t tops is the trickiest bit, but nothing very difficult. It is a travesty to do An Terallach without doing it as a circuit from Coirre Hallie, plus the 2 Munros makes it problematic. However with planning I think it is a brilliant choice as competent fit friends can accompany you round clockwise over all the airy stuff - (much less airy going clockwise) and up to 2 less competent groups can climb the easier Munro, one from Coire Hallie, and the least confident from Dundonnell. Allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the ridge.

It’s a funny story with Nevis, I have actually done it but never filmed it - I had done the Ledge Route with friends.. but I did film a clip of me touching the summit.. so I will be making a CMD Arete & Nevis Vid, I think it was officially Munro 153 or something 😂 CMD is an option for last though! Hi mate, I know it doesn't really matter now but you can actually summit Bla Bheinn from that side of it. I've done Bla Bheinn twice using that route. I get what you're saying though it's not the main route but it's technically not wrong either. It's a bit more difficult than the main route though. Loving the videos mate 👍
