Good video, I've tried to explained this to alot of beginner players. I usually factor in like this. If you cut 10% of the ob then appx 90% of the energy will remain with the cue ball. So if you hit 80% of the ob the appx 20% energy will remain with the cue ball. Is not exact simply because of energy loss, English, felt/ball cleanliness. But you can usually guesstimate an approximate end result using this.

Great video as always, I think it's your calm voice and precise description during the lesson that makes your videos enjoyable to watch

Great video 👍 The easy pots are key to making difficult balls easier but it's so easy to forget!

This is great info. I miss easy shots and have a different way of looking at them now. Thank you!

Learning that hitting an object ball fuller absorbs more energy is a fairly new concept to me but man is it important. You can't play position well without understanding this very powerful concept for sure!

While I agree with what you're talking about during the video my first thought about the shot was why are you putting outside (Right) english on it? The outside english is going to cause the ball to pick up speed off of the rails when using simple backspin (Draw) would still allow you to go 2 rails for position while not adding in the extra elements of outside english.
@ryanmoon052 жыл бұрын
I would use stun, the speed you need to hit, any draw would turn into a rolling cue ball and react as a stun shot, hit it too hard with draw and you would get the same effect as right English in causing the cue to pick up speed and also make you lose your line. Even just top English with a touch of right would work ok using one rail, in the end all three can work, it's just which ever you feel most comfortable using

Definitely speed control issue. Better speed control less room for errors. Shoot the percentage shot.

I was playing 9-ball. my opponent broke but didn't sink anything. I looked at the layout. No balls were touching a rail and no ball were touching it was a simple run out and I was straight in on the one ball. I took the shot for granted and missed leaving the one in the pocket. My opponent was able to run the entire rack (which he should have) but that rack was mine. I wasn't mad at my opponent, I was more mad at myself for taking the shot for granted. Mistakes like that help me make sure I don't do those again.

If u know where your hitting the object ball and the angle it comes off that ball then it becomes irrelevant what part of pocket your aiming it at
@360PhoenixFlip2 жыл бұрын
This is one reason I much prefer Chinese tables to American ones, I’ve found because the pockets are so much bigger, I let my concentration and accuracy slip, my speed increases and I play sloppy.

Let's see. Underhit. Have to hang the 8. Or take the angle for granted and scratch in the side lol Experience and discipline will get that situation successful more conistently

Not over cutting the ball is a part of 'speed control'.

0:18 vicarious? I'm not sure that's the word you meant to use there. Vicarious means living your life through someone else. How does that definition fit this situation?
