Just a couple of suggestions. Any hole you drill through your paint use a cheap artist type paint brush, spray a little quality paint in the cap apply with brush. Apply some butyl type sealer over holes and around high areas and sides, you can leave a small drain area down in the lowest spot as a possible drain. Add some waterproof material at all connections at final install. Something over the inlet (they have products for this) to stop driving rain or snow or reverse the direction of inlet. Remember you are trying to stop water from getting into the inlet.

For sure. If you notice, I actually have a "cold" air intake on the truck which bypasses all of the factory air box connections. As of right now the snorkel is purely decorative, otherwise I would have gone a little more in depth with what you suggested here. Thanks!

BTW 's H.F. sells a snap punch for a couple bucks. Works pretty good for cheap.

think with cutting the tires would work without the spacers. i beat on my tracker dont think they would hold up
@BarelyBuiltRight3 ай бұрын
The spacers typically increase interference, so require more cutting. I put the spacers on the push the wheels out to the flares

Nice, I think your bolt holes were right on, looks like the studs are at an angle which would make them not fit from the outside, but you handled it!! Sooo .. any news on the jet boat?? 😜

Did the snorkel increase or decrease the fuel economy? The reason I ask is because the junction between the snorkel and the flexible pipe(it has a big rubber grommet thing)is smaller than the inlet of the snorkel and where the flexible pipe enters the airbox.

Tbh, I've never tracked my mileage with this vehicle, so I couldn't tell you in one way or another. Sorry!

Do you have a new link for the snorkel? I clicked it and it’s no longer valid. I looked on eBay but I’d like to make sure I get the same one so I have the template. Awesome job btw

I need soft top trim parts for a 2003 Chevy Tracker. Do you know if a Geo Tracker would fit good?
@BarelyBuiltRight9 ай бұрын
"Chevy tracker" would be the "geo tracker" for that year. Anything branded "geo" would be first gen, which wouldn't fit.

Lol, Obi Wan guiding you in your mission was on point…. it feels that way working on our vehicles sometimes…. All in all it looked like an easy mod, how long did it take you to do and did it feel like you did anything wrong that made it take longer or was there a shortcut you took not in the instructions that you knew to do that sped up the process?
@BarelyBuiltRight3 жыл бұрын
Haha glad you liked the joke. I tried to do it step by step and go for accuracy over time. Still did it in ~90 min. A punch is important to keep things centered and not be walking the bit all over.
