also remember terraria works based off of small caverns built in so if you just dig in any direction you should find a cavern with (hopefully) loot in it. this is the game itself though idk how the mod works. also you can make houses for the NPCs and they sell stuff cheaper if they're happier.

As someone who has never played terraria I have no idea if I'm right about this, but I think you may want to build more houses. It looks like Brett showed up and moved in as soon as you built something that could be considered a "house", so I'd assume that building more houses (you may want to look up how they get defined) would either bring in more NPCs with useful stuff, or would provide the existing ones with more places to hang out than just that building (and might even allow you to have a house to yourself). Anyway, I'd love to see more of this.
