I've never before seen a whole new biome added, and now that this one is getting attention, a lot more people will be interested in making and playing such mods. The vehicle oxygen one is kind of needlessly tedious haha I mean, you can easily handwave it for immersion that it has a electrolysis device mounted on it that pulls water in and converts it to O2 and hydrogen, boom there you go. Same reason you don't have to wait 2 minutes every time you get inside for the water to drain out/or a forcefield

@@hudsonbayifitwasalive8747 that’s a good question, lore-wise the void biome shouldn’t have the cove tree since the one in the lost river is confirmed as the only one in existence. Plus we don’t even know how the cove tree reproduces, if it’s either like mushrooms where they spit their seed or if it’s carried by local wildlife. Or maybe the ghost leviathan has a symbiotic relationship with the cove tree.

I’m pretty sure the void was actually planned to have a biome, called the single cell biome. It was basically a bunch of tentacle like things that, when shown light from a vehicle, would grab you and suffocate both you and your vehicle.

Well the whole point of the crater edge biome is to be an uninviting barrier to keep the player from wandering away from the map. That's why there are no resources and you automatically get attacked my ghost leviathans. You're not supposed to go there.

If you’re going to have the void biome be based on the lost river there could be some added connection between the two. Like having a corridor of some sort between the void and the cove tree, possibly adding a few stops near other spawn points.

My first play through, still during early access, so life pod drift was still a thing, I had just found the floating island for the first time, was headed back to my life pod, didn't have a compass, and it was night, suddenly I hear "entering ecological dead zone." with my life pod still 400m in front of me. This was apparently right when they added the Void Ghosts, so that was terrifying.

I did have a few ideas for a biome. Crater ridge: a long, narrow pathway off the main map that slowly gets deeper and deeper until leading to the next biome... Secondary crater/lava vent?: essentially a giant anthill filled with large gooey snakes that may or may not try to kill you. Also blood red water due to the plankton blooming there and maybe a high iron content. Maybe in the caves or deeper areas there could be a precursor base?

The limited air thing for the Seamoth actually sucks a bit of the immersion out of the game, as 1. IRL submarines use a process called electrolysis to separate the oxygen in water from the hydrogen, allowing them to operate without surfacing for months at a time, and 2. in canon, the Seamoth is used both in water and in space, so it doesn't make sense for it to have to take in air from an external source.

Tip from me to new players: Need to stay underwater for a long time? Make multiple oxygen tanks then equip all of them to fill them up in an area with oxygen then when you go into the depths and need oxygen equip the next tank

There should be some wrecks in that biome because the aurora crashed near to the void, and when it exploded peices flew across the map and I doubt a single peice of the aurora didn't fall into the void, and I feel like there could be another precursor base that got destroyed by ghost leviathans, and there could be some obtainable ghost leviathan eggs so you could could have baby ghost leviathans realistically there should also be more gargantuan leviathan skeletons because they are WAY to big for the actual map that's just my thoughts on what they should add.

LETS GO I just beat subnautica legit on my 3rd attempt after doing everything I wanted to before liftoff. I killed 3 reapers, went atop the Aurora, and I went to the end of the void legit and I also messed around with that jump glitch a little bit. I'm so happy
