Super talented musicians. The Japanese music scene as a whole is incredible, expecially the metal/rock scene...with the all-female bands leading the way.

I have been immersed in the Japanese music scene for almost 20 years and I am blown away by how much talent there is there and not just in a couple of genres. Rock and Progressive Rock, Metal and Progressive Metal, Jazz and Progressive Jazz, Pop, bands that are impossible to label just on genre, mixes of all these and more are there in force. The musicians also seem to love doing collaborations like we see here in EOE as they are a supergroup. In my opinion, overall Japan has one of the best music scenes in the world right now. I'm a professional, multi-genre musician and composer for over 40 years and I am constantly seeking out new music and artists. There is definitely no end to all these rabbit holes. In a way I envy you because you will be experiencing all this for the first time. Oh, and new subscriber from Canada.

Great reaction, appreciated thoughtful comments. Love East of Eden and all its hard-working members, and also other work by violinist Ayasa . You might like Quadratum, the subgroup of Unlucky Morpheus which showcases Jill their great violinist plus their lead guitarist, bass and drummer - similar but heavier than East of Eden.

@@omdtdz Gacharic Spin is my favorite J-band, Lovebites fan, listen to all others on your list and more, but Quadratum is great and most similar to East of Eden.

@@davidkoepke9841 Quadratum are a spin off from Unlucky Morpheus I believe and yes they are probably the most similar to this because of the violin, but they are a lot heavier. BAND-MAID , Nemophila and Gacharic Spin in that order are my favourite all women Japanese bands although I discovered Gacharic Spin way before the others. The new Lisa X band KOIAI is also awesome from the little that has been released so far, Hazuki from Nemophila is the other guitarist in the band. But are of course there are great all male and mixed male, female rock bands from Japan, the quality of the music and musicianship from there is just top notch like Sokoninaru as an example.
