I kind of disagree. Scripture tells us to ask. Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. 1 John 5:14 - And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: John 14:13 - And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: John 16:24 - Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. James 4:3 - Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. *God will not give you what you ask for if it's to take for sin and the lusts of your heart. I can almost guarantee that asking for money over and over will never work. Money is the root of all evil. Dr. Munroe has some amazing sermons. But he also has some "prosperity bible teachings" that rub me the wrong way. We have to study scripture to show ourselves approved. Here are some more scriptures about asking in prayer. We should go to God in prayer just to spend time with him. It should be about God not us. And when we ask it should be from the heart and for God's will. James 1:6-8 - But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (Read More...) 1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. John 9:31 - Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing. this is a lie... first of all let's start with Jesus himself. Jesus ministry was supported by several women.. so he did not work as a carpenter part-time to fund his ministry other people help to fund his ministry. there was one Church where Paul told them that number that he was not going to take for them but that was not every case. in fact he told one Church to make sure they take an offering before he came. Paul said that if they benefit from the spiritual from him should he not partake also of Earthly things from them so the idea the ministers in the Bible did not take offerings and just work jobs to fund themselves is ridiculous and wrong
