Over the past couple decades I've had a couple 5th wheels, a few trailers, motorhomes class A,B, and C. I had a Montana about 15 years ago now. Out of all of them, the Montana is number 1 or 2 favorite all time setups. I used it in the Canadian North all winter changing locations ever 2 to 3 weeks, and it really stood up the the abuse running alongside the foothills of the Rockies and a 250 pound gorilla that works in the oilfields, haha. I'm thinking hard about this next one, just because of all the great 5th wheels that have come out these past few years. It's only for play these days, but it's good to have something you can rely on. Anyone else here that's had a bunch of RV's and is in the market right now? What are you looking at other than this? I'd like the suggestions. Thanks.

Finally think you found the one for my wife and I. Going to a dealer this weekend to check this model out. Loving the office room. Going mainly for that.

Thumbs up on the video. I like the huge window in the back. I don't care at all about TVs. I'd rather expand the kitchen. I don't go camping to watch movies about the city. I like the upgrades such as the tires, pin box, trailer hitch and camera. Those are all costly upgrades. Is there an outdoor shower? Good demonstration on a quality product.

Some of us are glad that the T.V. is large Also some of us don't drink coffee. Otherwise the 5th wheel is really great. Thanks for sharing.

like the layout, I prefer the bunk house door facing into the kitchen to allow for more desk space in the room.

I have actually been looking into possibly buying a mid bunk to live in full time with my son. I really like the Cougar 368MBI. We went and looked at a local dealer and they happened to have one of these also. So we looked at it. Little more money than I want to spend. But very nice. Not a big fan of the barn style door.

One of the features I like on the Montana 5th wheels is the spring loaded arm that holds the dinette chairs in place while traveling.

Agree, that the lack of counter space near the bunk area was wasted on those doors.

The only thing I don’t like about the rear living setup in most fifth wheels is the fact that if you are sitting in the theater seats at least one person has to look over the kitchen island as it sticks slightly into the living space. I prefer the Front living or rear facing living space that has separated space.

We have a cougar361rlw, looking over the island is not an issue for us, we even added a coffee cart at the TV end of the island still not an issue.

Really like how they finished the ceiling instead of the white stuff that you usually see, we are looking at a Montana High Country 381TH and how is the construction quality in you're opinion?? I've read that the quality has gone down some on the Montana line of RV's, and one of things I don't like about the unit we like is all cable slides.

I'd rather stick the coffee station in the office guest bunk. Makes more sense for working on your computer

Nice trailer, mid bunk is definitely in our near future, good thing for the wife and I, we don't drink coffee so a tiny little counter for a coffee pot would be useless 😂

Outta my price and weight range, but I do really like that floor plan more than any other style or layout. I just wish you’d see more bunk bed style beds in the “BUNKROOM” lol rather than the couch. To me, you have enough sitting room in the living room. I’d rather have dedicated beds in that room. Like the loft and perfect bathroom here. Front bedroom closet is alittle oversized for what I’d want, I’d rather have some space in the room for other things.

Hey JD. Good review, sir! I have a quick question though, and it is this: You mention this one is rated to tow a trailer (and I saw the connections). Did you happen to catch what it is rated to tow?
@johnliu68554 жыл бұрын
May be totally wrong but these are usually rated for 300lb hitch and 3000lb trailers...

I love your RV reviews, but can you please include the thickness of the beams the manufacturers are using...right now folks could be under the understanding that a 12" Beam used on a Montana is the exact same as the 12" beam on a New Horizons 5th wheel...same goes for the drop beams. A 1/8" I Beam is not the same as a 3/8" I Beam!!!

This is a nice trailer but that kitchen is a huge disappointment. Other than the island, which is too small, the only other counter space is about a foot next to the range. There's not nearly enough counter space. I hate trapped stoves, by that I mean, stoves that are placed in tight areas with little or no side counter space. You need room to prep. I love the outdoor kitchen. Why can't you get an outdoor kitchen and outdoor TV on every trailer? Those should be standards by now. If you want to impress future full time buyers, add those features.

I love these floorplans, BUT there's really nothing new to shout out about. OK, new materials making it lighter than 3-4 years ago, a bit more baggage room, but where's the innovations, the imagination in design? This plus F450 would help my retirement plans no end... now, how to begin a kickstarter...???

Both me and a friend both bough Montanas within a week. Big mistake both started falling apart with floors sagging and exterior walls separating. Both had to go back to Elkhart for repairs. No such luck still were broke had to get lawyers involved before they agreed to buy them back. This is not the same Montana of years ago. those people who used to build Montanas now own Grand Design. We now have grand designs and are more than satisfied. Buyer beware!
@BTBRVReviews5 жыл бұрын
I also like Grand Design, but to be honest, if you visit both factories you'll see they are built almost identically and in the same fashion.
