I’m just catching this wave. I’m glad I clicked on this video. I feel like I’m at my lowest point in life and I’ve been trying to find direction. Bad breakup, lost my housing and started a new job in a field I’ve never been in. It’s an uncomfortable feeling when you lose so consistently. That starting the day off with positivity and getting into better habits is my new jump start. I will bring positivity into the darkest days from now on. I will realize my true potential and reach new levels. I love the ideas and advice the two of you have. Thank you for doing this Lewis. You’ve given me the first steps I needed to work on the 2.0 version of myself.

I've spent most of my life in and out of prison; about 24 years. I just did a 6 year term and towards the end of that term my life changed thanks to Lewis Howes. We were given tablets and one function was the ability to download pod cast. I was drawn to Lewis's podcast. And it helped to make me realize what I needed to change. I didnt need to attack the drug abuse. I needed to focus on my personal development. If i could become a better person, more efficient, healthier, and more considerate, the list goes on; then the drug abuse would fall away like dead skin. Because the drug abuse was a result not the cause. Lewis said 'You are best positioned to serve the person you once were" and that simple statement has lead me on a path to help others as i grow myself. Thanks you Lewis, I hope you will be able to see what I become, and that I will help others like me to change and become the best they can be

I work remotely from home, and each time I look at my bed throughout the day, I feel way more organized than when I do not make the bed. Good morning! My morning routine started when I turned 50 and I have developed sacred morning routine. The first thing I do drink a glass of room temperature water and 1 cup of coffee. Then I sit quietly and reflect what I could have done better the day before and make a declaration for that day I am about to face. I write in my journal and I have kept a journal since I was ,little kid back in Korea. I write what I am grateful for rather that's a thing or people. I do not take anything for granted! That's including my health . I also work out every morning. Walk my bernese mountain dog after my workout. I read 20 minutes and I listen to faith building pod cast or motivational pod cast (you are one of mine) all this is done before 8 am !!!!! I work 6 days a week but my morning routine is a must. I have always wanted to start my very own you tube channel but didnt because of fear but I just started it!! Now working on my book!!!! Just because some one told me that no one will ever read my book!!! My greatest inspiration is when someone said no!! Love your pod cast!!! Thank you!!!

Now I'm feeling motivatd, ready to take on a big day, and writing you this to let you know how meaningful you are. I'm really motivated and impressed with what you have created. OH, SO TRUE. When I ran preparing for marathons, despite the reality that my body was not made to run them, one of the most lasting lessons and impressions was how whatever I ate on Thursday would impact my long runs on Saturdays. The length of the run/exercise...the level of depth of the exercise is directly proportionate to the energy required and, thus, the food intake hours preceding the event. God Bless & Godspeed.

I sometimes wake up at 4 or 5am and I am wide awake, do my exercise, and have my breakfast. After about 3 or 4 hours, I fall asleep. I could be driving or what ever, my eyes shut. I don't want to sleep during the day. I am most productive on good sleep. We don't have greatness in any of us. We are merely capable of doing great.things.

I do shift work starting at 5-5:30 am 6 days a week. I have to force myself to wake up at 4 to keep a good routine. It’s easy to fall from grace and press the snooze button. I heard Lewis say he take scooter to work everyday and it inspired me to start riding my bike to work everyday. It’s cool because I have a brand new Toyota tacoma 2020 and I’m just as happy riding my bike to work then I am in my new truck. I just started drinking a green smoothie with spinach avocado parsley and blue berries add water and ice and honestly I instantly felt good when on 4-5 hours of sleep last night but tonight I’m shooting dor 7-8 hours of sleep , but it’s hard when you wake up at 4 am so I just shoot for 8 but antthing over 6 I feel pretty decent. But I’m delaying coffee for about 2-3 hours while I wake up and I enjoy the coffee a lot more now. Great video. Another think I like to do is wash my face, shave, and use aftershave I feel like it’s a form of self love and a good habit. Also sunscreen for face that way you have a nice glow to your face and feel ready for the day.

Loved this quote: 'when i'm not writing the book i am writing the book'... so true again, for that space that we so need in our lives , between our so many doings, is coming in, just so ... not sure how to put it, necesary, or creative. I woke up at 4:50 am to get ready for my morning routine like drinking a glass of water when I get up and get ready for 2 hours walk while listening to an audio book, or listening to podcast. I do love doing it because of the morning breeze it relaxes my skin/body and my brain as well.

Sleep tips so important. I’m hearing younger guys talk about sacrificing sleep. You an an older dude and hopefully your message if sleep gets out there. And morning water. YOU NEED TO ADD SUNLIGHT ASAP. Key to waking up well is early sunshine. But SLEEP deprivation is so deleterious ti all body and social systems. Thank you! :-)

So many have commented about sleep habits. Before my obstructive sleep apnea was diagnosed, I was hallucinating from the lack of sleep! Dangerous to drive or do anything out in public, not knowing what was real and what wasn't... really, a creepy feeling. I am so much better now that I am free of those side effects... good quality sleep should never be dismissed as something that we can afford to sacrifice, and should never be taken for granted. I am SO grateful to be able to revisit this podcast and reconfirm my impressions... Thank you, Lewis, for what you do!

I recently switched to day shifts and now I'm working on getting up at 5am. I find that, for me, after I've had some water, taking a shower really helps me to wake up; and I do turn the shower on cold for a minute before getting out. I think I'll add in the 20/20/20 method after my shower, and then make my bed and tidy up the rest of my apartment. It's true that a solid morning routine makes a person feel more accomplished and I find that when I get up early, I get so much more done. Thank you Lewis, for all that you do. ❤

I really enjoyed this! Great hearing you as the teacher for a change. You're always a wonderful student, asking all of the questions we're wondering. But it's great to hear you share your knowledge 😊 Part of my routine is drinking WARM water first thing when I wake up. And the way I achieve this quickly is by sleeping with my water bottle up against me- so it's warm without any heating elements. Boom! Instant hydration! Sip on it while I make my bed 😁 Best wishes!

@@HIGHLANDER_ONLY_ONE Have you ever tried a magnesium supplement? I've always been a problem sleeper until I started taking it. Magnesium Calm. I take the powder form or you can get gummies. I take mine around 6 at night and sleep pretty good. I fall asleep around 10 n get up around 5-6. I even give a gummy to my grandkids at the same time. it's amazing for a natural supplement. good luck!

Because we can't switch off. I am an over-thinker,currently only getting about 3-4hrs a night. Sometimes I manage it better ,but overall, I get just 4 hrs. Its also a subconscious habit. If you think about not sleeping, you wont sleep.

I think most people want a good night's sleep; however, insomnia is an extremely common ailment today in our multi-tasking, hyper-stressed world. It isn't just as easy as deciding to get a good night's sleep and then allotting 7-8 hours in order to do so! It is far more complicated thing to actually accomplish that.

@Flower Guy Experiment Where did you get your degree in psychotherapy?!? From a box of Cracker Jacks? You are one person out of 7 billion in the world all with completely different family compositions, different genetic predispositions, different educations, different work environments, different illnesses, different home environments, different life experiences etc and what applies to you applies to EVERYONE else in the world?!? Get over yourself!! You qualify for the 'Narcissist of the Year' award!!
@charkitte3 жыл бұрын
@Flower Guy Experiment So much anger?!? Surely, you jest! I state a number of different conditions that must be taken into consideration when considering why someone would be suffering from insomnia and you call me angry? No my friend you are projecting your anger onto me! Golly, you really are a narcissist b/c that is exactly how a narcissist behaves - they refuse to take responsibility for their own behaviour and throw it back on the person they have accused. Please go away, you are very annoying but have a nice day, tho, OK!

Thank you for saying this @Anne-Maree Williams. I had to fast forward past his sleep bit because of what you say. Every person who promotes sleep seems to think that everyone has a choice in the matter. As for the other commenters, I have no patience for people who have a pat answer for something they know nothing about--they know nothing about sleep, they know nothing about you and they know nothing about me. Sleep can be more complicated than getting enough steps in or eating right and changing your mind. That all has helped me but it hasn't cured me--sleep is my achilles heel. From one insomniac to another, thank you @Anne-Maree Williams.

People, are you listening to this great advice. I am 70 years old and I wish I would have had this advice when I was younger. I just started driving at 66, but I am so scared of driving that it has paralyzed me. If I would have had this information when I was younger I could be out discovering America instead becoming dependent on just getting a ride to buy groceries.
