@djamillatalcide2148 The rule is not just hand positioning. Does he bring a pause to the ball? That answer is yes. In essence of the rule, that is a carry. If today's NBA was called correctly, it would look like when Jordan Poole got called three times for the infraction, but they done away stringent calling as you can tell.

A bit similar, but yet still VERY different moves. One, Steve Smiths move, was with the defenders body pressed more directly up against the offensive player in efforts to resist & cut off his path. Then once they committed Steve would suddenly turn opposite direction reversing his move using the defensive players hard close body contact defense, i.e body weight as a WALL to spin around, & away from creating an blind sided open lane created be hesitation & lure baiting. Where Dennis's move was more predicated on in & out speed, angle under estimation assessment by the defender who is OFF body with almost little to zero direct physical contact which Is where Dennis is taking advantage of them not being able to recover fast enough foot speed wise after assuming he would stay committed to his initial dribble direction which he explosively, suddenly, & abruptly changes & ATTACKS the defense after getting them off balance & looking away from the defense perimeter of protection Steve Smith is 6 '8 where as Dennis is only 6'1. Steve was BIGGER< & STRONGER as well SLOWER. So he used mid hip stabilization STRENGTH, BALANCE, & LENGTH! With Dennis being smaller in size, & naturally not as physically as stronger in body mass weight & height such as Steve had the advantage of Dennis used (1st step) SPEED, ANGKE & AGILITY to beat defenders. What gives similarity between the two very different moves is the SLIGHT OF HAND, or slight of FOOT rather, i.e the " now U see me now u don't" posturing & LURING/BAITING technique applied to successfully be able to pull of either move which got the defense off balance bkz it makes the defense LEAN hard into the opposite angle of coverage bkz they assume the drive will be directed to that angle & once Steve & Dennis see's that the TEAM, & on ball players have committed to covering the presumed, & standard angle of the defense they both then as I iterate turn back opposite direction into the same direction they just dribbled from creating that huge GAP after the defense SHIFTS out of coverage position of their initial drive. The main difference is the CONTACT & or lack thereof on Dennis's move opposed to Steve's facts.

In rugby league this would be called an in an away. The in an away is good because the person with the ball is in full flight, while the defence is covering. The person with the ball will move towards the defender to make them set their feet and halt the cover defence and the person with the ball still has a lot of speed and momentum to jet past the flat footed defender

@jeanetteadjei
@jeanetteadjei Жыл бұрын
@@wilwelaltijd honestly it’s hard to tell due the camera angle and how quick the move is. There are multiple videos of him doing this move that are zoomed in with better visual quality, angles and on different speeds. In each of the clips he does different variations of this move. Based on what I see with my eyes, Schröder’s hand is on the side of the ball, not under. The rest of the post is long because I’m breaking down what I see, so feel free to read or ignore, it doesn’t matter to me anyway. In one variation (Eurobasket), after catching his man on a pick, he makes it look like he’s going to attack the basket. But he does the spin to confuse the defender. Before the spin, the ball is in his left hand. What’s key here is he bounces the ball once to set himself up for the spin. When the ball is on its way down, Schröder turns his back to his defender at a certain angle so they don’t see him make the switch to his right. He switches to his right when the ball is on its way up. His hand is not under the ball. He’s still showing his back to his defender and he tricks them into to thinking he’s going to switch directions (he’s looking away from the basket) to bring the ball away from the paint because Rudy is waiting to contest the shot. That’s why Rudy moves away from the basket. But once he faces his on ball defender, the ball is still in his right hand (and his hand is still on the side of the ball), Schröder crosses over to his left to lose his man and explodes to the basket for the layup. In another version (he does this in this short but I watched another video in a different game. Because I wanted to see this move in another angle and in slowmo so I can get a better look. It’s on KZbin, it’s from a Utah vs. Lakers game). There’s more contact with Dennis and his onball defender because they recovered in time to stay in front of him. The ball is in his right hand, he bounces the ball once, turns around while ball is on it’s the way down, and then switches to his left while the ball is on its way up. Once the spin is complete, he does a crossover to the right, blows by his defender to complete a reverse layup. I think there are other versions in which he doesn’t need to do a crossover before going for a layup because he already lost his man. I think what’s tripping up most of the people in the comment section is that they don’t see the subtle switching of the ball between his hands while spinning due to camera angles and the speed of the video. I also think some people think Schröder’s carrying the ball in the same hand while spinning, and that’s not the case here.

I knew that my Lakers wasn't gonna be able to resign him because bro is a true Hooper but I thought the Lakers was going to match any offers to keep him tho

Michael Jordan did that move in his era, one of the coldest moves he ever done so Schroeder only just brought it bck 😊 no doubt..1

I had a similar move like that. Just a slow spin to a fast crossover. But this is next level. Faking a reset work works.

Jokic did something similar in the post and spun on the defense as soon as the defender squared up.
