Denise Crosby dropped out of Star Trek TNG after season one to pursue a career in movies. So far this is the best thing I’ve seen her in. Her agent must’ve been a 13 year old boy. “Naw, forget that Star Track stuff. All of that talking junk is totally gay! I got some awesome movies for you to do with super cool action robots and PEW! POW! BING! It’s gonna be so rad.”
@FreejackVesa11 ай бұрын
Yeah, that was a bonehead move. Why would you drop out of a show that is almost certain to be syndicated. I get that they didn't know it would be successful at the time but still. TNG made the entire main cast wealthy, respected, and well known

To be fair she was in this piece of crap before TNG. But I agree that quitting TNG was a mistake. She's done a lot before and after (see her IMDB) but nothing to equal it. Seems like almost everyone who drops out of a major hit show never achieves the same heights again (with rare exceptions). For example, all those who quit MASH in order to avoid being typecast toiled in relative obscurity after that. On her IMDB page it says she is known for some obscure movies (not TNG); whoever edited that page got it wrong.

This movie is excellent! The effects are by John Carl Buechler,fresh from Troll, and it was Peter Manoogian's first real directorial role, so he worked hard on it, too bad the budget wasn't...huge,but it was kind of big for Empire productions. According to Patrick Reynolds, he almost died at least 3 times while "riding" the tank unit. Apparently he was strapped on it, incapable to move while a small person inside of it was driving it. The thing was heavy btw. So the times it seems it's going to flip over..it actually was! Charles Band wanted to make it a franchise, but apparently it underperformed at the box office(yes,this was released in theaters) so he put it on hold.

The thing I could never get past. When Mandroid operates his vehicular assault lower body. Instead of flexing his none gun arm or holding it in sideshot position. The actor must have been scared shitless and/or suffering major whiplash. Because you can actually see him holding on & bracing himself. It looks like shit and I can never not see it. Your welcome😁

1) This movie was indeed released in theatres, I watched it in one. 2) I suggest you give a second chance to "Citizen Kane", just remember it is NOT a film to watch while talking to friends and drinking beer. You could appreciate the subtleties of the movie, like the couple that has breakfast in a bigger, distant table every time, the detailed design of the house , the soundtrack of Bernard Herrmann applying de religious "Dies Irae" like a wagnerian leitmotiv to show the progressive moral corruption of the main character, and the special effects (YES, special effects) like simulating a full-crowded theatre in the middle of a political campaign. Anyway, I enjoy your channel, keep it up!

I've seen Citizen Kane a few times. I studied it in college. It absolutely changed moviemaking and was revolutionary. It pioneered a lot of techniques. And it's boring as sin 🤣

She left Trek because she was upset she wasn't getting any character development, which is understandable, I wouldn't want to just stand there, either. They f ucked up by killing her off, instead of leaving it open for her possible return later.

So I just checked on this guys because I thought Denise Crosby looked a bit young in this one. Yup, this movie came out a year before the first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation aired. This is one of her earliest movies and appearances. Kind of a fun and crazy movie guys, thank you. Oh BTW I am from far East Tennessee right in Appalachia and you are quite right, is it almost it's own race for sure. Nice folk but yeah very different.
