Do not feel bad or insecure about your skin tone beautiful Judy! Just think they are jealous and trying to put you down to make themselves feel better! I was told growing up the UK how pale pasty I was all the time. It was only when I was late teens, when my mother and I went to Thailand and Dubai did my perspective change. I realised that depending on where you live in the world, pale skin was seen as beautiful. I was told how gorgeous my skin tone was, that it was like milk, ivory, porcelain and more compliments. In Thailand they kept congratulating my mother, saying she must be so proud having a daughter with such pale skin. It was a revelation. I knew, that for thousands of years, beauty standards were to have pale white skin through many cultures but it wasn't until the 20th century and then tanned skin became the norm in the west. I came home no longer being ashamed and embraced it, stopped using fake tan or sun tanning to try and fit in.
