So, wait a second! You are using a Credit Suisse report! They can't handle the math required to run their company and keep it solvent yet you are trusting the math for this report! I would take that information with a pinch of salt. First of all, I would say the majority of Indians own gold. Also, many Russians and Chinese citizens now own gold. If you look at the citizens of the middle east and the former eastern block countries and their experiences with inflation and fiat, many of them own gold. So, I think the global percentage of people owning gold is far higher than that of the USA and Canada. Even Mexicans hold more gold I would say. Americans and Canadians I would say on the average are sheep and asleep and have no idea! I bet the numbers are about 5%.

Prior to COVID I would have NEVER seen myself owning any. During COVID I got educated and as the education started the OT opportunities at work started flowing in as well. Ive managed to squirrel away 8oz and a buttload of silver. NEVER in a million years would I have seen myself sitting here. My only regret is not learning sooner!!

Lots of people have regrets and not starting sooner with something is usually at or near the top of their list. I could get into that but don't because I was not just wasting time before I got into PMs. I was too busy building a career, growing a family, and learning how to invest in the stock market. Although stocks are not PMs, it is still possible to make quite a bit of money in it if one puts their mind to it. I followed Thomas Edison's quote on this: "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Because of this, I was able to make good money and retire at age 55. I did not start stacking until I was in my early 60s but I don't consider that time as being "wasted". It was merely spent on a parallel path that contributed to the end result. 🙂

Love your channel!!! Always just facts no hype. Here is an interesting senario, in the 1920s Henry Ford paid his workers $5 a day. That was a lot of money back then. That would be $25 a week. Since we were still on the gold standard you could get 1.25 oz of gold from the bank. That would be roughly $2500 pr week or $130000 per year in todays money. I would love to hear your comment on that.

They could have done that. But the reason they could do that is that there was much more paper money than there was gold, but still existed a promise to convert paper to gold. This is a promise that would collapse immediately if people lost faith in the dollar and demanded the banks make good on conversion to gold.

Great Vid. but the problem is using the figures representing the total amount of Gold in exsistence and the total world population. A more realistic example for us Stackers would be Bullion in cirrulation (excluding Central Bank holdings) and Physcial Stackers. There is approx. 332 million ounces of Gold Bullion in Criculation and about 61 million Physcial Stackers. This changes the dynamic and the numbers a bit. To make it into the Top 20% you yould need approx.- 16 ozs, Top 10% - 37 Ozs,Top 5% - 53 ozs. and the Top 1% at 164 ozs.

Credit Suisse numbers are not realistic in my opinion. The Indian population skews. Their dowry is gold. I know millionaires who have zero gold and believe it is useless 'rock' as they say. I am thinking many are in that camp.

I bestowed upon my 2 nephews a 50peso Gold coin after their 18th birthday…..I’m no “Joe Kennedy” but, I did the best that I could. 10years later….Both still own their coins. I told them that one day the coin should be able to give them a nice down payment on a house and still believe this to be true. Someday markets will be true & honest…..

5 years ago I sold half my stack of gold to put a down payment on a home. Your definitely a winner in the long run for stacking gold. Staying out of debt and buying gold will pay you greatly for ver time

Another 10 or 15 years and I’ll probably have 41 ounces of gold. That is if things stay relatively stable, which is guess won’t be the case. Started slowly in 2015 and have been picking up the pace since 2019. I also buy some silver every once in a while but it takes up too much space and it’s too heavy. I think I might be able to add an average of 2 ounces of gold per year and 40 ounces of silver, maybe a little more when I’m lucky and don’t spend my money on nonsense. I also put some money in gold and silver miners. Time and patience seem to be to most important factors for a good outcome so start as soon as possible is my advice to those who’ve yet to buy their first precious metals. Just start and fondle it for a bit, compare that to the feeling you get from paper money. If it’s for you, you’ll know…

10 or 14 years? I am sorry to say but it will never happen brother. The historical record shows that our society will collapse. There is a ton of research in this area. Currently we have all the ear marks of a collapsing society: devalued/debased currency, catastrophic debt, destruction of the moral and value base of society, the emasculation and attack of the male, the direct attack of the societies cheap and available energy supply, and these are just a few. No society has continued in perpetuity and our is no different. What we need to do is figure out how to survive the transition as America loses world reserve currency status as Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, France and Great Britain have before it. History often rhymes. Prices will rise, inflation will be permanent and lifestyles will drop. Unless a miracle happens and we revert back to coal and oil and start manufacturing all products again, it will be a race to the bottom.

Thanks for your interesting explanation. You use similar numbers to other channels, but each time it makes a bit more sense. For those of us newbies who have much more knowledge than physical assets, more of a breakdown of the very lowest end of ownership by weight, maybe for gold and silver? I found it fascinating just how fast one moves up the food chain in the early stages, as far as worldwide ownership especially. It can give a potential stacker more encouragement to see the effects that happen early (1oz, 2oz, 5 oz, 10 oz, ...). Thanks, and selfish me likes to watch this topic explained 50 different ways.

I bought multiple Pre 1933 St Gaudens and 1898 $10 gold coins back in 2009. Best thing I ever did . Just went over 1000oz of silver and came out of retirement to get a side hustle job so that I could buy more. If Gold/ Silver goes down as some are predicting, Imm'a back up the truck and start chucking it in.... I kid you not. The Dollar IS going to lose its world currency status and the reason I know this is because Jim Cramer said it wouldn't. That guy is 98% wrong on everything he says. If the US dollar loses its world currency status, these American sheeple are going to be paying $50 or more for a loaf of bread and valuable money, such as Gold / Silver , are going to go through the roof. And I may take my Passport/ Visa and live somewhere else. I'm not hanging around to get caught up in the flames of anarchy that will pervade what's left of this country and freedom,(as if it still exists).........

Most financial analyst recommend holding 5% of the wealth in gold. I think the average northeastern police officer has a $120,000/yr pension (yep, all that money and they still get 1st responder discounts at many stores), That suggest that they should be buying 2 ounces of gold a year. 20 years of retirement, they should have 40+ ounces of gold as they collect their pension. A retired police officer is becoming the wealthiest class in amaerica, With that kind of money, no wonder why NJ and NY police are so currupt.

The Chinese in particular are avid students of history and it has not escaped their notice that at the end of WW-II, the world's one and only super-power held 28,000 tons of gold in US vaults. Some of that was held for other nations who wanted it protected from the war but not all of it belonged to foreign countries. A lot of it was owned by the US Treasury. If China wants a shot at the title, and it is pretty clear that they do, they will want to have at least this much gold in hand before they make their play for it. Their claims of having less than 2,000 tons of gold in hand is a ruse and one that they will spring on the world at a time when it is most advantageous to them. Consider that China does not export gold. They do mine gold, however, and have mined an average of 350 tons per year for the past 20 years. That alone amounts to 7,000 tons. If China were to buy gold on the open market, which they do in small amounts, this is a publicly recorded number. BUT, if they buy through agents, it is the agents names who are recorded as the buyers and not them. Having dozens of these agents only makes good sense if they want to hide the amount of gold that they are buying. Since their exports bring in huge amounts of US$ and gold is priced in US$, why not convert a lot of that into gold? Same for US Treasury paper and they have sold off a lot of their UST paper holdings. IMO, none of this is skulduggerous in and of itself. It is merely pushing their own agenda to stack real wealth rather than mere paper wealth, and isn't that what we stackers are doing too? How they intend to use this wealth is another matter entirely. That could and likely will be to our disadvantage.

With gold at all time highs, this was a high risk move but I actually used an available line of credit card credit offered at zero percent financing for 18 months to purchase 50k in gold. I will have to make minimum payments on that debt every month until I repay the principle but will not have to repay the full amount for 18 months. Almost inconceivable to me that gold could be less valuable in 18 months than it is today. This strategy is not for everyone but I have a pretty high risk tolerance and frankly, I'm surprised that more people in my position of having excellent credit but low levels of liquidity (maybe because they already spent their cash buying gold) have not done the same thing to help enable faster accumulation of the physical metal before price skyrockets and availability plummets.

I have to say, gold ownership seems very common. Pretty much everyone I speak to owns gold in one way or another. If the question was “how many gold coins do you own?” I’d understand. However as far as “do you own gold/silver, I’m surprised it’s not allot of people. In my family it’s tradition to even bestow babies with a gold bracelet. I understand that not everyone shares this culture. Just thought I’d share the anecdote.
