In the short film, grandpa came back after work (fisherman) and found grandma dead thinking that she was killed by the stranger that they took care of then came after Pablo, burned his hut so he couldn't return..this mv is a clip of the short film UNA..best actor Pablo🤘tnx on your good insights 😉

I hope you noticed the pupil of his eyes turned from dark to bright when grandma tried to wipe his wound. That means even through his darkness there is still brightness with these kind of people. But when grandma took off his sheep’s clothing something bad happened (though it could just be circumstantial or coincidence) that’s why he ran off believing that he is causing trouble every time his sheep’s clothing is off. That’s why he put on his sheep’s clothing to avoid any harm again. Btw, this are excerpts from his short film UNA and ALL the proceeds were donated to the typhoon Kristine victims.

Pablo mentioned in his interview that it is not how he would want to end it if given the chance. However, there was a limitation in budget. The weather was not good that they have to stop every time it is raining. That probably caused them not to finish what they aimed within their schedule.

Some of the scenes in the MV are also in Una short film. In the end, it shows the institution/place where he is at after all that'shappened. He said the film is a prequel of the 2 albums. So, after the ahort film, the next scene I believe is La luna.

I didn't see the short film because I live overseas, but as I was told by other A'tin it's very deep. Not everyone can interpret the storyline or it can be interpreted in many different ways. In short, not fir everyone's taste. After watching the MV, my take away is this. Pablo in sheep's clothing came from nowhere (since it was not clearly presented where he came from) bruised, dirty, probably stinks can be a symbol of depression. We don't really know it's already taking over and we don't know where it came from exactly. But it carries all the wounds, bruises and dark secrets of our trauma. Pablo is hiding it (hence the sheep clothing) for he might be afraid others will see it, it's his best effort to hide what's within. Trying to blend in the town ( society) thinking covering his body will do its job but it just made him stood out more and look strange. Children (may symbol ignorance) still pokes him and make fun of him. Not really knowing he is exhausted and sad. He grabs the fish the only food he can grab at the moment to sasiate hus hunger ( fish can be interpreted as the love he longs for). And because it's laid in there he thought he can just grab it. But it's with a price. Pablo was drawn away by the merchant. So he is now a "bad guy" in their eyes. Pablo's situation is more than confusing by everyone who will look at it as it is. Just like inner struggle, not even the person who carries it can explain it. What more the others. And there, pure hearts will just take you in regardless. A child and an old lady. Pureness and wisdom in one abode. And for someone who is used to be judged, he gets weirded out. Pablo experienced acceptance and belongingness from the people with pure intentions. But when things turn into something unfortunate he quickly withdraw himself thinking he causes all the troubles. He is doomed. So he would rather not involve himself to anyone. Blaming no one but himself. Isolation is his solution. But the child tried to catch him. I hope there is one shot that shows the child found him in the part "wag mong solohin ang mundo." It would be more redeeming. The world is corrupted so it's not fair for everyone. I hope we can still stand up for someone who needs more kindness than judgment.

Thanks for this RV! IMO, the story that is being related in the short film UNA is a bit different from the MV's. While the film's ending was open- ended, the MV used scenes from the film but rearranged those in such a way that tells the story of a wolf in sheep's clothing (someone misunderstood who is thought of as fierce), gets to lower his guard symbolized by the Lola taking off his sheep headdress. But just when he gets to reveal his true self, tragedy strikes and he is forced to put his guard back on. This the last scene in the MV where he still wears the sheep clothing. In the MV, they don't show who picks up the headdress whereas they show who picks it up in the film. I'm thinking that the MV was implying that Pablo's character gets it back and that's why he's back to his old self in the end.

Hey, King & MARK! Wow, excellent reactions and analysis from the both of you. I really enjoyed your takes on Pablo's mini-mini-movie. I've heard that the scenes in this MV are condensed from Pablo's short film called "UNA", which had a very limited number of screenings in a few cinemas around the Philippines. UNA's story was written by Pablo, along with Justin, as well as Xi-Anne Avanceña. (Xi-Anne [1st part pronounced ZYE, like in "Xylophone"] is a name you've seen in the credits of most SB19 MVs. She's 1Z's Creative Manager, and has been Justin's frequent collaborator since the ShowBT years and even way before then back to their college days.) Pablo has hinted that the story/lore they envisioned was much larger than what made it into the short film, and "UNA" means "first" ... so we can probably expect that there'll be a "IKALAWA"/"second" and potentially more. 🤞Fingers crossed, we'll see the "wolf" and that young boy that befriended him again. (By the way, the boy's character is deaf, if I'm not mistaken.) I can't think of anything else to add, and I actually picked up new insights that I hadn't thought of from your discussion. Most of the scenes in this music video were taken from the short film Una. In that film, the woman dies because she was already sick before meeting Pablo. The scene is particularly sad because, just as he starts to feel at ease with her, she suddenly dies. He runs away, possibly because he knows he will be blamed for what happened.

I don’t think the grandma died. She was shocked or startled when she took off his sheep’s clothing and it revealed his true identity as a wolf and it startled her that’s why her knees buckled and she was holding her mouth to hide her shock. And the wolf got scared and confused so he ran away. Idk. Just my take on it.
