AC is switching ever more from Airbus to Boeing, so the A321XLR will be a bit of an orphan in the fleet, with few opportunities for Cross crew qualification with other aircraft.
@Prodagist5 ай бұрын
Not really. Air Canada currently still operates plenty of A320 and A321 ceos, so it would be a relatively easy transfer for those pilots to the new XLR's. Even after their retirement, Airbus aircraft will still make up the majority of Air Canada's narrow-body fleet, with 60 A220s and 30 A321XLR's compared to their 48 Max 8s.

A small plane doing transatlantic should never be pitched as being environmentally friendly. It still wastes far more than a larger jet flying to a hub and taking train from there. Flying widebody to Paris is more efficient than flying a narrow body to Paris, one to Toulouse and one to Nice. But having 3 separate flights looks better on computer reservation systems form a marketing point of view, especial;l as Air Canada doesn't do business wth Air France or SNCF so can't offer connection from Paris to Nice, Toulouse or Marseille. Air Canada accountants won't like the 321 because they can't put coach as 7 across with narrow seats and 25" seat pitch as they would so want.
@The_Red_SquirrelКүн бұрын
I think that some airlines have figured it out differently. Are Lingus for one will be offering more US and Canadian destinations from Ireland with the introduction of the Airbus A321XLR. I don't think they would be doing that if it wasn't profitable and if there wasn't demand.
