No stun is required on gear just your stuns from your skills! And yes focus combo crit for gear!

I run a similar setup.. swap snail for banana and problem solved

Yeah with snail then you can also run immunity book and get that extra shield guarenteed

Snail doesnt work well on bosses that are far away due to them not having to move much I typically only use it on things like the slime or snake that have to walk all of the way too you!
