About the game:
Instruments of Destruction features an advanced physics-based destruction system. You can demolish every structure in the game piece by piece. In addition, every object you see in the game world--save for small decorative plants and rocks--is part of the physics system. Each element of the world interacts with each other and together they create a physical, visceral world to play with.

Now Scrapman should add a suspension for the tank, meaning the body might need to be widened or lengthened or just both, so a turret redesign would be good as well

Indeedy. And, with how the hull is designed, much like an Abrahms or T80, it'll need to use Torsion Bar style suspension. Can't use vertical shocks in such limited space. I believe the rotating pipe joints can be set to have torsion, and the bottom of wheels (road wheels) mounted on those.

I think they are trying to keep it simple with just allowing a single module for the gears. Probably incase people unfamiliar with gears get confused.

@@conorstewart2214 personally I think it's a bad call on their part, they could easily have it set to the 12 by default, and still have a tooth slider as an option at the bottom of a list of options.

@@conorstewart2214 Wouldn't make that much sense, particularly because of the fact that if someone was unfamiliar with gears the following would probably happen: A: they dont touch them. B: They wouldn't mess with the settings.

@@papermk2249 people mess about with things in games they don’t understand all the time and they would change the settings to see what they do. Making multiple gear modules and numbers of teeth would probably require a lot of models for the physics and visual models so that may be why they chose not to.

Actually if you think about it it is entirely possible for tank treads to fall off the road wheels however it was pretty rare it was/is entirely possible if the tank is traveling at a high enough speed or turning faster than the tank is recommended to turn. And a little fun fact is the Porsche Tiger was actually made by Porsche themselves ironically enough

@ScrapMan i have an idea for a multiplayer monday challenge, in trailmakers, a helicopter evolution dogfight where you start off with 5 mins to build a simple helicopter with guns and then you have 5 more mins to "evolve" the previous version of the helicopter btw you can add +3 power cores each round, i have had this idea since the plane evolution but didn't say, i have been watching since the first "air land and sea transforming vehicle" and have been watching every video since.

the tank is about the size of a building tho, so to scale it's closer to a real tank travelling at around 50~70 Km/H, whish is still quite fast to be honest.

good sir, i have a challenge for you all on multiplayer monday, 1 person builds a truck to tow a trailer, another builds the rear steer drive, and 3rd builds a ladder with water cannons to put out a fire, using a city map, try to get there and put it out before fire engulfs the whole thing. more of a team work effort than a comp, but still be fun to see how it all connects and works out,

You had it backwards in the beginning. Tracks work best when the driving gear is in the back pulling bottom of the track back. That way the top of the track can have slack eliminating the need to tension it.

I'm not sure if Instruments of Destruction's physics work like that because there isn't anything for the sprockets to actually hook into. This appears to be entirely friction-based. You are right though, that is how tank treads work in reality. Reality's tank treads do have a tensioner on the unpowered sprocket, though. The treads do require _some_ tension to stay on the sprockets. The tensioner also allows them to reduce tension for the purposes of re-seating a slipped track or repairing/replacing tracks. Tank Mechanic Simulator is a good way to see this, as you can break down the tank's tread system and see what each component is used for. A surprising number of tanks do have the transmission feeding the front sprockets, though.

Scrapman, just curious. You wouldn't happen to have any ancestors going by the name of John Walter Christie or Ferdinand Porsche, right? Just asking. It's not like those were two men who thought making "race car tanks" was a great idea and tried to make such abominations. I mean only one of them make one of the most jankiest of suspension designs for a tank that also had the option of taking the tracks off of the tank and driving it around like a too many wheeled car (See any Soviet BT tank) and the other just wanted to stick "new revolutionary and better" electronic transmissions into every tank he had his hands in (See German Tiger I Porsche). You just seem to have something in common with those two of wanting a tank to go really fast. . . . . . .meh, probably just a coincidence.
