I recently got out of a relationship with a woman who was hell-bent on posting "empowering" photos (aka thirst traps) online. I shared what the 1st and 2nd wave feminists taught about objectifying women in media, and asked if she ever considered the concept of self-objectification. She said the photos were just to "celebrate herself." I asked, "So why share them, if they're for yourself?" She said, "Well, I also want *you* to see them and think I look hot." I said, "Ok, you know I'm barely on social media, and you can always text me a photo if you want... But to be honest, I like you even better like this-- without all the makeup, filters, and posing. I love your real face. And I just see you've been posting a lot of these photos lately..." Then she said, "This all sounds pretty controlling if you ask me. Are you sure you're not just feeling insecure?" And that's when I knew we wouldn't work. Standards do not = insecurity. Lack of standards = insecurity.

your comment makes no logical senses. feminsim is all about choice. yeah, shamming women for having tatotos and photo shopping them without it, shamming them for having no kids and photoshoping them with them, forcing them in a ideal of what a woman should be, IS wrong. and yeah, its still weird and sexual to photo shope women in more modest clothing. its not a crime to wear a dress that dosent go up to the neck or a skirt that dosent pass the knees.
@lonebanana67539 ай бұрын
while I don't agree with these feminists, I think one of their arguments is that women should have their own personal choice to whether they wish to sexualize themselves or not. The issue some of the feminists have is that it's up to that woman whether she chooses to do so or not, and the reason they're upset is cuz it's a "man" behind the AI dictating what they can or cannot wear based off their standard. I notice Brett glosses over that point when she reads the comments... I woulda enjoyed hearing her counterargument to that point but alas most of these political types do if it doesn't fit the narrative they're making.

As a teenage girl in this day and age and culture, I've been hit with this many times. People will ask why I dress modestly or choose "vintage" clothing over others. And that reasoning is specifically the fact that I have NO interest in sharing my body with anybody besides the one I marry. I don't want to "show off" my body, I think it's rather awful. Why not focus on women's values, career choices, personalities or pretty much anything else actually meaningful apart from the way they dress? The problem is not in the clothing, people dress modestly and still hate men, refuse to have kids and start an OF. Style doesn't define their personalities. Sure, women do want to look pretty so people admire their beauty, but what's an actual problem about that? Instead of telling women, as conservatives, hey we accept you and finding love and getting married and having traditional values is good and you should strive for it, we tend to nail them down and comment on unimportant bs like clothes. Cmon now.

As a young woman (25) who prefers to dress modestly for comfort, I've definitely been pressured over the years to stop dressing like a "grandma" or "librarian" citing it as the reason I've never had a boyfriend. For a few years, I saw the women who dressed more "sexy" getting the dates and being in relationships and I almost let that sway me into changing the way I presented myself, but I realized I'd rather dress the way I prefer and get a husband who loves THAT version of me than get some f-boy who only likes me for my body. no, you just know that even if you try you won't look as good as other girls, by today's standarts. By the looks you don't seem to even try to change. Body is art, and body can be fixed to an extent. you might not have the looks of madison beer but you shouldnt look like a trash bag either. None of men unless the one's who can't do shit and are stupid to understand they can change are going to like you. And ofc you will prefer comfort because, you know you look bad if you try to look good. And if you do dress "sexy" people will only use you once, because they won't see you as a long term partner, because you're not at their standarts!!. And you're scared of others judging you in public, while being in the stage of where you are changing yourself. Conclusion if you don't face the fact that for some time people "MIGHT" judge you on what you do, you won't change your appearance and will be for the rest of your life in this STATE. But right now you're in your fantasy, where you think OOOU "i'll find someone who loves me when i dress like a farm girl" But you live in a city, you probably won't find anyone and if you do 90% chance you won't love him. Because even tho you say that you want someone who loves you for the version your are, we all want to have beautiful partners. And don't cap on this.
@HitenLighthearth8 ай бұрын
@@NaturaAroma-c1f Nah. I can't let that one slide. There are many people who focus on more than just the outside appearance. Does one's willingness to take care of their being heavily affect their ability to find someone? Yes of course. But just because someone chooses to dress modestly and doesn't have the greatest appearance due to their genes or what have you does not make them undatable. Sure by the shallow, by the young and by the immature maybe. But that's far from everyone. Her not looking as good as the e-girls most F-boys chase after is not going to be the end of the world. It's not about being judged but about not agreeing with today's societal addiction to sex. If we want to play the society standards game then us men all need to be 6 foot tall, making 6 figures with 6 pack abs and at minimum 6 inches under the waist. Falling under any of those well you should not even try approaching a woman or else you're a disgusting creep. I mean that's the standards set for men by many of the thots that set the standards for the women of today. P.S. Not to be a grammar nazi or anything but since you used the word in your comment multiple times I can't help but correct you, and this isn't saying it negatively mind you. We used to understand the word ‘cheap’ with regard to appearance and behavior. To be cheap is to devalue YOURSELF by displaying yourself in a sexual manner to every man who happens to cross your path. To be cheap is to offer intimacy to random men without regard to emotional intimacy, respect, or level of value in any regard. Beauty and the beast was the first time as a young girl that I began to understand how dignity and self respect makes a woman most attractive. It's such a simple concept but so many refuse to believe it. In the movie there's 3 girls throwing themselves at Gaston and he wants nothing to do with them, he wants Bell because she has dignity and character most of all. Woman now these days have little to no Character Edit: My comment has really nothing to do with Gastons character or role in the movie. I didn't think too much into it as a child lol But even as a kid, it was obvious that her difference in personality was something that people were drawn to. That's what my point was. Also much can be said without words. Like the way the people smiled and spoke to Bell compared to how the 3 girls were ignored despite being beautiful as well.
@JohnWear-j4v9 ай бұрын
Sadly, at the beginning of the movie, they make it plain that Belle is the most beautiful girl in the village, and that is why Gaston wants her. I doubt that he cares at all about dignity or character.

Gaston was a monster. That was the point. Yes, he was shallow and wanted her bc she was the most beautiful - but what made her beautiful? Dignity adds to the aura for many. She also was a challenge for him to conquer. The OP seems to be stating that, despite Gaston, which of those women seemed more someone to model yourself after? The vapid easy women, or the rarified and principled woman? Men like Gaston wanted her as well as men that aren’t horrible people. Self-respect goes a long way.

I do not believe women are humble they are just shedding one skin for the next that is beneficial to there predicament. Women are getting tons of backlash so they are just resycoling that elegant feminine mask in order to avoid the accountability that women have made for themselves. I am about to be 31 and as a 31 year old male I am not going to give no women the opertinity to leach off me and I do hope there are other men who are wise and taking the higher road as well and just leaving women alone as they should be left alone. What makes DignifAI so terrifying, is that it's a mirror of what could've been. I actually empathize with the sheer disgust that many of these women feel when they realize what they could've become, and compare with what they chose, no wonder they fight so hard to repress those feelings and lash out. A good woman, who had AI undress her, is furious about the fiction and the perverts who made it. A bad woman, who had AI dress her, is furious with reality and herself.

Great conversation and points! Especially about the more visually and physically “promiscuous” a culture or society becomes the less sex they trend to have. Ben and Jordan just recently covered this too on a great discussion with each other.

This is something I noticed between when I was in happy, healthy committed relationships versus "playing the field", and still notice with my single friends engaged in hook up culture. They're elated it they get laid twice a month. If my partner and I are only doing it twice a week, we're actively trying to figure out what's gone wrong because those are rookie numbers. When you truly love someone who is the right fit for you, your passion and desire for them doesn't diminish over time. It grows.

Finally! Someone who gets it! As a young man, modesty is one of the first things I look for because it draws the attention to what's most beautiful in a woman. Girls who dress immodesty don't understand where their true beauty is at and so aren't worth my time. If you're wondering, "where are all the good men at?" First take a look at your wardrobe and consider if a "good man" would notice you in the first place.

So true. The weird thing is that women absolutely gush over those old books and movies that show the Victorian Age. They love the dress and the style and the elegance of that period, even if it's romanticized a bit, including men in formal wear. As the responses to this DignifAI show, there's no logic or reason allowed. They complain about both sides of the argument, nothing is ever okay or acceptable even when it's them doing it to themselves.

@Magpiebard9 ай бұрын
Careful, it can kill some of the joy. I worked as a costumer for years - which would put me in a weird place in the modesty argument is my of my wardrobe can be classified as 'gypsy/wench' wear. Lots of peasant blouses and honestly as someone really busty, a bodice over everything to, um keep the girls in place is heaven sent, I'm covered, but a lot of more conservative folks get weird about it because it's not the "norm" - and it took me stopping ALL sewing for almost 5 years before I could touch a machine again after having turned it into something that felt like a turn and burn to make things. Unasked for advice here - find patterns you like that you think are fun to make, in fabrics you like and if, in the end, it turns out to be just a fun project, but not something you are gonna wear THEN sell it as a one off. It will help keep the joy. And really unasked for advice - Do. Not. Ever. Take. A. Bridal. Job. Brides are nuts and you will end up thinking thoughts that would have generations of your grandmothers reaching for the bar of soap to wash your mouth out. I learned I picked up more oddments of a half dozen language that are all profane when I was making them than I thought. And even a few words in Elven and Klingon on top of the German, Gaelic, Latin, French and Old English (costumer, remember, every fantasy world has been dropped on my head, whether I wanted it to or not.) that would make your daddy blush .@@AshtonMcneese

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If someone thinks I'm not beautiful because of a very meaningful tattoo that's very superficial of them. I hold myself to standards of being educated, being kind, helping those less fortunate than me, and if my tattoo erases that for someone they're the one who's missing out not me. I love who I am and believe that who I am is beautiful. My young niece and nephew love and look up to me. My sister thinks I have an amazing strength and an incredible propensity towards optimism despite having to deal with some really hard things that are out of my control like a rare genetic disorder. I dress appropriate for the weather. If it's hot I'm probably wearing a sundress. If it's snowing I'm in a cozy sweater. But how I dress shouldn't be what's important to others. It's what's on the inside that's supposed to be what counts. I have a pretty wonderful life.

What the most ridiculous thing is about all of this, is if these same women were to post images of them being clothed normally, and someone wanted to use AI and make them look like they were wearing next to nothing, they would be upset and claim "misogyny". However, they post these images themselves already, and they are made to appear more modest, but they are claiming the exact same thing? That makes no sense.
