Undertale is an indie game developed by Toby fox around 2014 - 2015, the game was started as a demo where you simply just walked through the ruins, encountered enemies, and chose to kill or spare them, a simple form that would be expanded on as the game was completed, as time went on the game had gained popularity, the community had grown larger, and more people with murderous ideology’s arrived, thus causing first recordings on the genocide route where you fight sans, however the other 2 routes were finished as well, some people got the neutral route, where they killed some and spared some, thus fighting omega flowey, then people found pacifist, and fought Asriel, as time grew on the community grew with it, however some people wanted to paint undertale in there own picture, while the original undertale was not a show, an animator named Jael, created X-tale, they would then proceed to evolve this into underverse, one of the 2 major undertale fan shows around at the current moment, the other one, glitchtale, has been in controversy so I won’t talk about it, however most au’s were made as comics/Light novels, the original iteration of dust sans was for a competition, it was adapted in light novel form, abyss tale was made as a passion project of sorts, and was adapted as a light novel, and that’s the end of my undertale for beginners essay, goodbye.
